We're going to have a lot of Columbine worshippers here, and it's a horrible thing. No one cares about the truth of this incident, but they worship the killer, and some people want to do a big job.😢

I played in a band with a dude who was obsessed with Columbine. He used to dress like them, wearing trench coats in the summer, and he downloaded that sick video game they made about the shooting. Fortunately, he never hurt anyone or himself and now he’s happy and healthy.

People falling for serial killers really shows how easily their victims fell into their grasps due to their perceived charm. The difference is the victims didn't know they were serial killers.

What pisses me off is that Eric and Dylan weren’t even bullied. Eric was actually relatively like popular, at the very least well known. Anyone who finds Columbine fascinating needs to read the book Columbine by Dave Cullen, I swear I’m not a paid shill, I read the book after listening to the Last Podcast on the Left’s episode on the subject and it’s amazing

Gosh, when I stumbled upon this video I knew that it was going to be complicated, mostly because I’ve had an interest on both true crime and fictional crime stories, on and off for most of my teenage and adult life. I’m familiar with the concept of both women or cults that follow or form around serial killers or mass shooters and those of that ilk. And I’m easily as familiar with the kind of fan or “groupie” that obsessively follows the celebrity of their desire beyond reasonable means and turns stalkery because they’re desperate to be noticed or recognised by their target. And of course the unfortunate true crimes where a normal woman inadvertently becomes the target of a man that turns into a full on stalker and things end very badly for her because the authorities just don’t care enough to do enough to protect her even when it’s pretty clear her stalker is going way too far. I feel endlessly bad for those poor women.

Anyway getting back on topic, first thing is that I’m a very big believer in reducing the emphasis on the parts of the crime that the mass murderers want-fame and recognition-so I make an effort not to learn the names of the perpetrators nor those associated with them or those who inspired them. Even if I know their names I’ll try not to mention them unless I have to. Mentioning the crime and location is enough for me.

But people can still be interesting and I don’t deny that. I don’t know much about the Columbine High School killers but I really do understand the extreme effect being chronically bullied all the time at school can really hurt you inside. I experienced it myself to a very high degree and while I didn’t turn to crime and I kept my sanity it definitely had a huge impact on the formation of my personality during those teenage years and still affect me to this day so I can sympathise without an inch of condoning or justifying what they did.

It changed my life trajectory but I’m far from unhappy with the way life has turned out almost four decades in. I adapted and found a way to make it work for me. But I also understand how the most random thing can change you forever. About a year ago I discovered aviation as an interest and sort of hobby, I got a job related to it at the airport and discovered a job that I truly enjoy and friends that I have lots of fun with. And even a partner for whom my adaptations to living alone (from the enforced isolation of being bullied in school) means that I’m fine with him being gone fairly often and his personality has a similar fit with mine.

Nobody has to be a killer. There are almost always ways to make things work for you even if it takes a lot of time and effort to make who you are an advantage.

If people would just go to therapy and stop making their problems everyone fucking else’s problems, the world would be so much nicer. Following mass-shooters and serial killers like celebrities isn’t cute, funny, or cool. It’s mental fucking illness and you need to get your shit together

The scariest part of the Andrew Blaze case is that he uploaded multiple videos talking about his plans, to the point where it was obvious he was planning his own death and a columbine-style shooting somewhere. But literally nobody tried to stop him or contact authorities.

To give some context, he would mention in almost every video leading up to the shooting that he "Wasn't going to be around much longer" and literally said he would be dead soon.
He even uploaded a video of him flipping a coin to choose between the two places he wanted to commit the shooting.

The warning signs were there, but nobody did a single damn thing.

I have a complicated stance on the columbine shooters. Last year, I went through one of the worst period of my life. I was bullied, shunned, etc. The entire school setting was ruined for me because of the people there.

I hated everyone around me and had thoughts of murder, like everyone else. The thing is, I had vented to a “friend”’s group chat one day and they reported me school school faculty. They school thought I was to be detained and they got the police to take me to Juvie until my court day. I was charged with “intimidation” and was almost charged with terrorist threats.

My shitty school year + the added trauma of being ripped from my regular life and put into a place where I was told that I was evil and a danger, it made my hate for everyone and everything worse.

The system and the police realized I really hadn’t done anything wrong and dropped all charges from my record and name.

Sometimes I see the columbine shooters as what could’ve been. It disgusts me. I hate how I used to be because being like that isn’t who I am. I’m the type of person to spread love and to care about everyone. And to think I could’ve been changed forever because of a few mean kids.

At the same time, I can almost understand why they did it. Having been in that position, I understand the boiling fear and loneliness and rage that being bullied makes you feel.

I’ve been recovering for nearly a year now and I’m the happiest I’ve been in almost 5 years. I’m loving myself and spreading love to the people I care about.

My point is, I think the boys definitely had a choice. They didn’t make an effort to help themselves, and the people around them refused to help too. But at the end of the day, I’ve been there. I understand them in a way.

The theory as to why i think girls and teenage girls are obsessed with serial killers is because some girls have different preferences on which guy they want to date, these types of girls are apart of a term called "hybristophilia" and i believe (not 100% accurate) that they like to date strong and aggressive boys, some girls might even go too far and start making wattpad fanfics of these mass murderers and serial killers, i have seen a wattpad fanfic on Richard ramirez aka the Night Stalker and i was not impressed when i saw it, The richard ramirez groupies or "fangirls" are absolutely aggressive and toxic, going against anyone who hates on this devilish serial killer.

Stockholm syndrome is built into the OS of women, it is their standard operational procedure.

Think about it: in the past women were often bought and sold by men and instead of being rebellious, they would just accept it and start having his kids and loving him. Or when warriors cane and killed your husban and took you captive, if you were too much trouble they would kill you. So only women without honor that were willing to let bad men use them survived, the ones who fought back too much didn't survive to reproduce.
