I used a 2015 as my turbo tax, email response machine for 7 years and then I sold it for $500. Pretty good. I’m all iPad these days.

2nd gen, it was the only one that could actually sustain performance with the thermals, as it had a fan CONNECTED TO THE HEATSINK!

I love my M1 Macbook Air. It's still fantastic and still feels almost new in performance. Super snappy and I can't imagine needing more for my use case anytime soon.

Funny how in today’s world nobody even mentions that MacBook Air was one of the first laptops to remove optical drive, and in those days it was my number one reason not to buy an Air.

I remember seeing a few people who had 11" Airs when I was in undergrad and they were so light and portable! Adorable but WOW the tiny screen gave them a hard time multitasking.

The butterfly keyboard and the touchbar must be the biggest Apple design flops of the last 15 years.

I have MacBook Air 2019 model and I loved it. It is still working great with great battery life. Although m2 is game changer but back then I had this option.
I did zoom calling all day, my college work and project, coding, movies everything it is working great. The only thing that I hate is butterfly keyboard. I am ok with typing quality but oh boy it always becomes sticky with little bit of dust. I have to put keyboard cover. Apart from this I loved it. Easy to carry, can watch movies on the go but in future I will definitely upgrade to silicon ones

Apple Silicon enabled the MacBook Air design to really work, cause it wasn’t really working before.

still use it although i realize it's close to its 'apple EOL' and recently got a 14" M2 MBP refurb as my 2nd computer for work from home.

The 2nd-generation Air (mine's an Early 2015 13-inch) was my vital lifeline when I was in college. Saved my work, saved my grades, and saved my back. It's still alive, kicking, and serves as a decent daily driver since I gave it some new life in the form of a new SSD and battery. At some point, I'll have to say goodbye to it when the security updates stop, but even after that, it'll still remain the best laptop I ever owned.

Nostalgia to one side, The M1 was the pinnacle for the MacBook Air especially in Terms of battery life, quietness, design, and price and of course great processing power due to the M1

The second gen was the air I wanted. But by the time I got Apple money it was getting long in the tooth. And I heard the 3rd gen was trash and was being replaced in a few years. So I never got a air. One day I’ll get a used m1 in a few years.

Not an insane laptop by any means today, but very reliable.

I've had a 2013 11' model for almost 10 years now. I used it for college (I studied digital arts and design, so it got a lot of Photoshop and Maya usage), for illustration, for gaming and it has been awesome. Yeah, it show its age now, but I can still use it for web browsing, watching movies and maybe some light emulation. No regrets on this purchase, 10/10

I used to be an apple hater, but the m1 air is actually a good machine.

I had the 2018 MacBook Air with that slow i5 processor. It was great for about 3 years. After some updates and using Zoom while having the books app open really made that Mac cry. lots of fan noise. Battery was ok but not M1. But man it was thin and I kind of missed that.

Asus made the EEEpc, 60 millions sold, Apple jump and does its version, fist was not that great and has a lot of problem but it became a standard, but not invented by Apple, just copied and evolved from netbooks.

I bought my first MacBook Air in 2011, when the Thunderbolt 1 version made its debut. I chose an 11-inch version, having bought a 15-in Thunderbolt 1 M acBook Pro 5 months previously. I now use an Apple Refurbished base model M1 MacBook Air. In between. I bought, in 2016, an ex-Apple executive 2014 MBA with the biggest SSD at 512 BB, 8 GB RAM and the 1.7 GHz i7 processor. The Apple Silicon version is the most versatile MB Air.

Luke your videos are great.
Everybody hates on the 'slow SSDs' but think about the future;
think about the future of the M series;
and about this early batch, which is difficult yet possible to upgrade.
And look, domestic capacity for these supreme starchy potato chips is clearly booming.
And with it, every peripheral technology.

I have the M2 Air and it feels the most "MacBook"-like MacBook I've ever owned. I've had the plastic unibody MacBook, the 2015 Air, the 2019 16-inch Intel Pro, and this M2 Air. This computer is just the snappiest out of the bunch, and it feels the most like my favorite (my OG MacBook). That being said, I liked the 2015 Air's design a bit better because it felt different compared to the rest of the lineup. The M2 Air design is gorgeous and I love the black colorway. It just feels a bit more conventional.

I had the 11 inch MBA from 2015 I think. It was hot property. It was super in Winter time for warming your lap. It had 4G RAM and a 128G SSD...in the end it had to go and was replaced by the M1 which was 100x better and a bit of a miracle...miracles do happen. Hallowed be thy name Steve

And now I have an Air 2022 M2, and even with the base model… oh man! I love it!

I had the last edition of the Intel MBA and liked it a lot but the fan constantly running was getting annoying so I sold it and got the M1 MBA, not knowing it’s much more complicated to run Windows on the Silicone Macs. As a result I looked for the cheapest 2nd Gen I could find just to run Windows and loved it, especially the MagSafe. Now I regularly buy the 2nd Gen MBA from whatever online sites are selling them, usually for $50, clean them up, fix whatever may be wrong with them, add a new battery if needed, add Ventura using OpenCore and sell them for $150 pretty quickly. People love them for their kids or as a backup to their newer models. The new M2 design IMO strayed from the iconic wedge shape, and of course there’s the SSD issues, but the return of MagSafe is a nice revision.
