Protestants denying protestantism fundamental principle: get people out of the Roman Catholic Church 😅
ОтветитьHey catholics, we are not a denomination, we're the DENOMINATOR. We're the original, they're the bootleg in need of a special name. 😂
ОтветитьI strongly maintain that the Protestant Reformation ought to be called the Protestant Revolution for just the reason that these guys say right here. Especially among baptistical Christians, there is something dangerously close to Mormonism in terms of continuity with the early church. They just reject the idea that there was anything but a shadow sect for 1700 years.
Mormonism is just one step away from that.
Good to have a target list. Thanks William!
ОтветитьI don't really choose who I evangelize to. It's anyone God puts in my path.
ОтветитьCatholics aren't Christians though...
ОтветитьI was an atheist before Catholicism. I’ve had rough patches here and there in my faith life, but when someone says “did Jesus intend this, did Jesus intend a new religion (Catholicism)?” I can say “Jesus gave His Apostles authority. That authority still exists! It’s in The Catholic Church, it didn’t go away!”
ОтветитьLiterraly doesnt even matter if thats the case because outside the church there is no salvation, outside it dammnation is almost as sure as it would be in hinduism
ОтветитьUh...we are winning our former Catholics back from heresy. That's all!
ОтветитьOne of the reasons people don't believe that the people converting to the Apostolic Church is because of Rome's false claims. The Eastern Church is the Catholic Church , as well as Rome, and Traditional English Church. Orthodoxy is just as Catholic as Rome claims to be Catholic. I wish more Protestants would become Catholic, either Roman , Orthodox of Anglo-Catholic.
ОтветитьProtestant for almost 2 years now. Leaving Roman Catholicism for Protestantism was the best thing I could do for my growing family.
Ответить…yes? So? Who better to convert to the full faith than someone who already believes in Jesus Christ? What a tragedy it would be to leave them knowing about Christ but not actually knowing Christ?
ОтветитьIm Catholic and i too want everyone to join one of the 23 Sui Juris Churches in communion with the Pope of Rome.
But.
I have noticed that much Catholic apologetic content is top-heavy aimed at Protestants (and Protestant-oids like Non-denoms). I will shout out to Trent Horn whom i have specifically seen reaching out to Atheists but much of the apologetics content is aimed at Protestants and perhaps WLC is merely noticing this as well?
I converted to the Catholic faith as someone who did not believe in any religion
ОтветитьGood Video
ОтветитьGreat Program!
ОтветитьSeems like an overly harsh response. I think there is validity is that almost all of the catholic context we have online is going on about protestantism. I am catholic
ОтветитьJust mentioning that catholics are not lying about catholicism to convert isn't a valid response. We will constantly accuse (and correctly so) that Muslims lie about Islam to gain followers. To be honest even if not lying, most parties do try and present a more sanitized or favorable version of their religion to newcomers. I am sure you might think that Mormons/LDS does the same thing too. I don't think it's a stretch that Catholics may be doing this to some extent as well. Maybe none of them do but just asserting that they don't isn't really a rebuttal.
ОтветитьThat's the reality though
ОтветитьProtestants target all backgrounds
ОтветитьAs someone who has been doing apologetics for a long time, and recently moved into Catholic apologetics, I needed to hear this!
ОтветитьProtestants may be moving to the Catholic Church, but don’t look now. Catholics are moving away from the Catholic Church in droves into the orthodox church. Uneducated protestants are easy to convert to Catholicism, but then when they continue their education through Catholicism, like the educated Catholics move towards and into orthodox Christianity, where they find logic and correct theology
ОтветитьYou are probably only converting those who don’t read their scriptures.
ОтветитьI do think it is easier to sell an atheist on non denom faith in Jesus. Lots of barriers set up by the adversary to make Catholicism a little less accessible. Open, faithful Prots usually do then come around ovee time.
ОтветитьProtestantism is like blm riots and looting.
ОтветитьNah i think wlc is more correct. Even trent horn said that most of the works done about jesus' ressurection are done by protestants. Catholics spend more time on their own circle instead of focusing the tenets of mere christianity. If you look at missionaries there are way more protestant missionaries to many pagan countries. I find this a bit dishonest. And to call wlc delusional is kinda harsh.
ОтветитьI remember seeing Tim Tebow asking for funds to help missions in the Philippines. He stated that 63 million Philippines aren’t Christian.
There are 63 million Catholics in the Philippines…
In the US, we are converting Protestants as well as bringing former Catholics back to the Church. Re-evangelizing the lost was a huge priority under Pope Francis and this will continue no matter who is pope next..
ОтветитьThe Roman Catholic church was founded by Gregory 1 in 590 AD and is NOT the universial (=catholic) founded by Jesus.
ОтветитьMatthew 28:19 New Catholic Bible
19 Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,[a]
So tell me, how many Muslims have you converted to Christianity in the last 12 months?
It’s just more of a pipeline, because Protestants already have an understanding of Christ and the Trinity. So, you see more of it, but we are working on all people. I work on the Orthodox Jews I work with!
ОтветитьThe Christian religion in all its divided and divisive forms was established through a 'bait-and-switch'. The 'bait' communicates that Yeshua is all about "being and building Yahweh's love-based family" whereas the 'switch' communicates that Yeshua is all about "being and building a right beliefs and practices based hierarchical religious organisation/empire". Ironically, these two 'visions' represent two very different 'lenses/glasses' through which we interpret and understand scripture (e.g. the Good Message), this world and your life experience. And it is primarily due to this 'bait-and-switch' that hundreds of millions have been abandoning Christianity (not Christ/Yeshua) in recent decades - not to mention the complete failure to protect our young from the blatant lies of naturalistic materialism being forced on them by educational institutions encouraging many of these to abandon theism altogether.
The two issues I am referring to here constitute what we call our ‘worldview’ – which consists of ‘origins’ (where we came from) and ‘purpose’ (why we are here). Regarding ‘purpose’, you will find in Christianity these two conflicting (oxymoronic?) ‘visions’ competing to establish what Yahweh’s eternal purpose is. The Roman Catholic Church is the mother of every version of the Christian religion and declares boldly that Yahweh’s eternal purpose and therefore Yeshua’s redemptive purpose is all about "being and building a right beliefs and practices based hierarchical religious organisation/empire". Everyone must decide for themselves which of these two ‘visions’ represent Yahweh’s eternal purpose as this will determine what ‘lenses/glasses’ you will use to interpret and understand scripture, this world and your life experience and will provide you with answers, right or wrong (depending on which ‘vision’ you choose), to the following questions:
• What is the genesis/origin of everything?
• What is our purpose for being here?
• What were we meant to be like?
• What is our actual situation?
• What is the cause of our situation?
• What is Yahweh’s rescue plan?
• What will the restoration of all things be like?.........
I use an acronym for those who take no issue with denomination swapping just so long as the Protestant doesn't become Catholic -- ABC: Anything But Catholic. Same goes for Protestants who enter a high liturgy denomination like Eastern Orthodoxy. Still ABC. Seems it's especially difficult to get over that anti-Catholic barrier.
ОтветитьGreat discussion!!!
ОтветитьI remember being in a Christian bookstore in the 90s and having become interested in Christ again following 20 years of dis-interest post Catholic confirmation. The book was basically what to do about those Catholics - convince them to leave their friends and family if necessary - whatever it takes to have a clean break from the Catholic Church. Then I bought a huge book about Christian heresy and discovered Catholism listed as one of the most dangerous ones. I grabbed my gas can and burnt the book in my back yard. My Mormon neighbor on one side and my atheist neighbor on the other never said anything. :)
ОтветитьAll satanic cult believing bastards of sola scriptura, a man made tradition invented by a devil possessed man, nurture satanic inspired hatred without cause against the Church of saints that Jesus established under the stewardship of Peter and keep on doing all sorts of nonsense in order to destroy it but nothing happened to it for the last two thousand years and will remain till Jesus comes back because Jesus himself promised to Peter saying "gates of hell shall not prevail against it"
ОтветитьI don't know how as a Baptist there was a little catholic in me screaming about converting and making everyone unified. I then the Baptist part was incompatible and now I'm catholic. Thanks Joe, your shameless popery did the bulk of the work.
ОтветитьI was raised Catholic. As a teenager. I stood in the back of the church and saw this was sacred to the people in the pews, including my parents. I didn’t understand it. I didn’t want to pretend it was sacred to me . At 27 I accepted Christ as my Lord and Savior . After 35 years in Protestant churches, I found myself in a spiritual upheaval. I didn’t receive much of an education on either side. At 62, I now found myself asking the same questions I had as a teenager.I prayed to go deeper, to better understand God’s heart for us. Next thing I knew I was binging Catholic content with no desire to. It was not attractive to me in any way. No one knocked on my door or invited me back to mass after forty years or even tried to explain Catholicism to me. I just prayed. At every Protestant church I attended or visited , at some point , people there made fun of Catholics, acted superior to them or professed freedom from Catholicism. I had no bad Catholic experiences. I just wanted the Truth. I knew my parents had faith and lived it out. I mentioned what I felt the Holy Spirit was doing in my life and have heard “ you could find another church, but Catholicism? They pray to Mary!” “ Be ware of familiar spirits! You know the Lord though, aren’t you born again?” If you leave the Catholic Church you are told you left religion for relationship. Well my Catholic mom told me as a teenager ,trying to figure out what I believe “ let the Holy Spirit lead you.” Catholicism sounds very different coming from Catholics. I trust that God heard my prayer and will not leave me in the wilderness.
