Are friars the same as monks?

That's crazy how do the monks just stay in one place

Can someone studying to become a diocesan priest change his order to religious order or the opppsite

Friars are Religious Priest. You need to study Philosophy for 4 years and 3 years Theology plus 1 year of Deacon. Is monks the same? Can i be monk to finished those? Or not?

Still confused. I see Friars who live in Monasteries but Friars are not really monks.
