Energy companies can get bent, I'm all for people bypassing their meters and it's important it's done SAFELY.

Mate, I haven't had someone come to my house to check the electricity or gas meter for more than 10 years now and my electricity has been bypassed for almost 8 years.

I had a scottish power PAYG rip off meter for 7 yrs, last week I was left without electric ( & heating due to gas boiler needing electric to power the dam thing ) due to the meter breaking down …. coincidently I was offered several times to have a SMART METER but I ABSOLUTELY REFUSE DUE TO THE RESEARCH IVE DONE PROVING THE HORRIFIC RISKS TO HUMAN HEALTH ONCE INSTALLED INSIDE YOUR PROPERTY . Surveillance Monitoring Audio stands for the first 3 letters go research yourself the last two . So after hours of contacting scottish power to help me get my power back on they all went home & left their customer service contact number answer phone saying we are very busy with other customers please call back later CUTTING ME OFF !!! I called National Grid on 105 at 8pm they sent me a text for emergency out of hours help to S/Power I called them & they arranged an engineer to visit within FOUR HOURS ! Nobody came & I called back to hear they are closed !!!!!!! Engineer came at 2am & told me it’s the 1st ever time he’s been told to BYPASS A METER FOR ANYONE 😏now I have electric without a meter 😝 IM NOT IN IF ANYONE KNOCKS THE DOOR FROM SCOTTISH POWER MY NEW OFFICE HOURS ARE WHEN IM FUCKING READY 😂

If you understand how to calculate the hypotenuse then you'll understand how they charge you for electric, it's like buying a beer, the froth is pointless but you pay for it anyway this having less than a pint of the good stuff.
So it's reactive power, true power and apparent power. We use the true power (beer) but we pay for the reactive power also (the froth) thus paying for the apparent power (the pint as a whole) simple really. Or just do what I do because my meter etc is inside I just don't pay for it. They can't cut you off from the outside they would have to enter the house and remove the fuse at the cutout.

We contacted British gas hundreds of times and they refused to fix it or changed it to old one and we arrived to a dead end with them..the meter is in the basement and nightmare for her to reach.
Is bypassing the meter a fair way in her case?

well here is what i have to say!! I work my whole life so I can enjoy these extra things, the bulb switch is great but did you tell people how much more one bulb coast? its like we keep giving and the governments keep taking. if we do save a dime they will soon find a way to take two dimes! so much simpler if they just drop prices on stuff!!!!!!!!!!!!! WE THE PEOPLE deserve better... they say, and it is illegal to still power but shouldn't it be illegal to charge people these ridiculous over prices??? they just rob us, the people using the law to do it because people in high power own the stock in it and that is why it is the way it is! i cant stand paying 7 dollars for a damn hamburger!! smh! its just not right people! i will retire next year , 30 yrs and still cant have a life I planned when I started working .... its just not right!! thanks for your suggestions on how WE can save!! but be better if you can show us a way we can get them to lower the prices of things the way it needs to be, and was! all we are doing are filling the owners pockets so they can go out and pay for 7 dollar for a hamburger. pizza one of the cheapest things to make, use to get a pizza hot and ready for 5 30. now its 8 dollars with tax, about a quarter to make a big order of fries but they charge u 3 to 4 dollars! people if we dont stop helping them make it easy to raise prices it will never stop!.. example of how they do it.. they give us cost of living raise at work but then they raise the cost of insurance there! SMH REALLY????? so much more to add but I think everyone already knows what im saying is true... someone needs to do something about it we need someone smart enough to get to congress and change laws before its to late! 13cents kWh 5 years ago. Now29 cents kWh and going up another 7 cents in Jan 2024 so light bill 5 years ago would be $150usd monthly to. Today over $450-550 month

This is the video i come and comment sometimes. So its absulutyley okay for power companies earning triple profits but its not okay us UK citizens to use normal light bulbs ? If you dont want your citizens to by pass meters you put fair prices, and do not force people to try illegal and dangeour ways. UK has the most expensive electric rates in the world. Its very tragic and ballzy to you to recomend people how to save electric, as people are absulutley stupid and they aint doing anything about it. Bypass your meters if you can people( and many many people does in UK) . This is why people like Artisan electrics want you to put smart meters. Because they are puppets of these big electric providers. their masters wants you to suffer and appriciate just because they tell you how to save electric. what about how to make sure government do something about these electric rises ? watch this video with a sick feeling in my stomach as you are seroiusly believing what you are saying.

The solutions in this clip is just a drop in the sea! What about warming water, warming our houses and get water up from the ground? There is the big costs.

I’ve only ever seen it once years ago and the funny thing was that the guy that had done it was absolutely loaded. He had a 6 bedroom house a few minutes drive from Addenbrookes. I still can’t work out why he was doing it.

More you do to save electric more it will go up. Why do all this when you can just bypass the meter. Fight back do not comply.

We never used to worry about how much energy we used, because it wasn’t over priced. Now it’s a luxury, and no matter how little you use it’s impossible to save money. We are being ripped off, full stop. We are paying 2-3 times more than we were , but using more efficient appliances which we pay more for. It’s all a scam and the relevant people should be brought to task and punished. Forget your new solar panel crap. It’s a wolf in sheep’s clothing. Heat pumps, useless, wind power useless. I could go on and on. Stop the people stealing your money with the aid of government.

SMART METER ?! I understand the radiation levels from a smart meter are way above a mobile phone increasing risks to health, what about those who are EMF sensitive ? You appear to be simply complying with the climate cult agenda. Firstly OUR energy should never have been privatized, how is it possible for a corporation to own and charge us for water for example or gas when the UK have access to a never ending supply of natural resources ?

One don't encourage means to by pass elec, meters but more and more are thinking to do this, one that by passes the meter usese only when using washing machine, kettle, iron, elec fire, showers, then put back to paying there elec, after all hard burning items, this is told to migrants in houses.... But.. A big but, you get a surge from power and it over loads and all wires in your home over heat and fire will break out, it's better to save your self's and your children, either pay up or a good duvet.

your saying turn off your standbys and change your bulbs, the savings in comparrison are not even worth worrying about, i dont have light on in the day and if you have a smart meter thats using electricity telling you how much your using

I wouldn't advise switching off the router... for best results they like to be always on.
