These new HxC kinda make me laugh with their choreographed moshs and headbangin shit, watching it and remembering other oldschool stuff from europe I was left wondering if I was watching a tik tok at some point.
And yes, I have to say it, her voice isnt that great. You're being conditioned by the fact its a female lead singer and we've been through the MeToo stuff.
There were way WAY more agressive and raw female lead singers (or support vocals) back in the 90s and early 2000s....obviously the scene wasnt as big as it is (in europe) and moving this ammount of money (this was in a pre-sell out stage when DIY was actually a real thing), so there are a very few demos or even albums, people were more focused on live performances and they knew the songs mostly because they were showing up to small concerts more than once a week, not particularly because they had albums or k7 or lps to listen.. that stuff was more for the imported US sounds, most of the bands didnt even record a CD due to lack of funding dispite the legions of faithful fans...
I actually know of several bands that when they did record, their time had passed, several members left etc and they were not in their prime so the CD recording sucks compared even to bootleged versions recorded live with a walkman and mic.
Unfortunately, being a niche genre in itself and female singers a vast minority for various reasons (the lack of females to participate or to take initiative at the time being the main), unfortunately the recordings are even less so, for those who lived it we can tell, yes, there were WAY better in the past.
