I absolutely love how much intensity the game picks up after finally finding Ciri on the Isle of Mists. The game really does hit the ground running at that moment in the story so much that it's so difficult to stop the main quest to side ones.

The most beautiful part for me, is when Geralt tells the emperor it wasn’t about the money and ciri smiles and holds his hand. Says it all

Words cannot describe how much I love the father daughter relationship between ciri and geralt that scene where he found her and thought she we dead just for her to hug him was brilliant and probably my favourite in gaming history

Dude the facial animations were absolutely legendary for 2015 and will go down in gaming history; its so good it even looks good now! It literally took years for industry to catch up

I'd have to say best father/daughter relationship in gaming would be Joel and Ellie from the last of us. But this is a close second.

I always felt that Geralt can indeed cry, he's just unable to shed tears. I think it's the fault of the mutations - teary eyes make it harder to see and a Witcher needs their sight, after all. But when he's in emotional pain you can see it on his face. It's not that he "doesn't know how" to cry, he just physically cannot leak from his eyes. (FYI there are real world genetic disorders that prevent people from being able to shed tears. Neat side note.)

Been 5 years since I first played this game and the moment Geralt embraces Ciri in disbelief and pain is truly the most heart-wrenching moment I've had in gaming.
The despair he showed, holding himself back.
The way he cradles her like a child while swaying back and forth, almost like comforting her "I'm here now, be at peace".

Even after when Geralt just stands there looking at Ciri with an unbroken smile, it just adds to how much Ciri means to the witcher.

Geralt says he can’t cry he doesn’t know how after versemirs death. Yes this may be true but after ciri left to her biological father I think I he had an idea how it was done

Vesemir's death always hits too hard. Every single time I play a new run (I think I'm over the 10 run now) this moment is terribly difficult to see.

I noticed not much time ago that the some of the most beloved games in the industry have a Father / Daughter relationship in its history, i wonder why? its not a problem for me because a enjoyed a lot that games its just i have that question.
The last of us, The walking dead, The witcher 3 by example, I read Bioshock have it too.
Could be the feeling of being proud seeing in who became the little girl, maybe its satifyng see her how good she manage in a cruel world ?.
I dont think its because they are girls that need a man, in fact, in those games the girls aren't weak characters, they just were born in tough worlds.

I love all of them tbh. Lambert, Eskel, Yen, Triss, Dandelion..etc. I just love the whole family 🤍🥺
