The current market/economy is unnecessarily tougher for boomers/senior citizens, I’m used to just buying and holding assets which doesn’t seem applicable to the current rollercoaster market plus inflation is catching up with my portfolio. I’m really worried about survival after retirement.

In a nutshell, the EU should be something like a gigantic Switzerland.

I'm from Paris and there's no question about the need to keep it moving forward in this city. Only sick freaks from the far right and far left are against it.
We need an actual elected federal government, that would be based in Brussels, then everybody in the world would have to accept it as a legitimate political construction.
It would also help establish common rules and regulation all over the Union, that's still some kind of wild west both full of confusion and helpless annoying bureaucracy.
That's much of the way it's been so far.

We know that rival powerhouses like China and the US certainly won't help us in pushing it forward, because they're scared of the potential power it stands for.
But we don't care. It's up to us to actually make it.

It begs the question of why they went for a common currency? Particularly say Greece.

Eu needs equality or it will collapse

America is fighting not against Russians, it's fighting against EU. They want to be the Empire for Europeans (not for Russians although they are also Europeans, America just unable to do something with them).
Look, they are attacking their allies using this conflict. They convince EU to lay sanctions on Russia, but those sanctions don't work, they just make Russia stronger. But oh they do work in the opposite direction!
Germany no longer imports gas from Russia. And Germany has already lost its chemical industry and experience severe decrease in all energy-intensive sectors.
What's next? No electricity? Hello, third world?

It would be a great idea of Australia merged with Indonesia. Then lots of people could benefit from a free-travel area, a massive single market and a customs union. I mean, sure, the Aussies would have to transfer bucket loads of cash to Java and let their policies and laws be decided in Jakarta. But hey, what was good for Britain should be good for Australia, yes?

If the EU were to break up, it would not be due to economics, it will be due to politics. Nobody had a problem when it was the Common Market, it is the ever increasing political union dictated by Brussels that has led to friction.
