I do want to point out, that Jose Rizal should not be our national hero, it should be Bonifacio. Rizal, ultimately wanted only that the Philippines be recognized as a province of Spain, meaning Filipinos be treated as Citizens of Spain and share all the same benefits that comes with that. While Bonifacio was the head of the KKK and although they failed alot, he still lead the people to rise up from the oppression.

Emilio Aguinaldo had things clear regarding his leading role in the war of 1898: «After the Philippines, I love the motherland Spain and one day I would like to go to it. "The Americans betrayed us."
When in 1958, the Filipino writer and journalist Guillermo Gómez Rivera asked Aguinaldo if he regretted having risen up against Spain, his response was: «Yes, I am sorry. Therefore, when the funeral was held in Manila in honor of King Alfonso XIII in 1941, I appeared at the cathedral to the surprise of the Spaniards. There they asked me why I had gone to the funeral of the King against whom I had risen up in rebellion. And I told them that he is still my King, because under Spain we were always Spanish subjects or citizens, but now, under the power of the United States, we are just a consumer market for their exports, if not pariahs. They have never made us citizens of any of their states. The Spanish, however, made way for me and treated me like their brother on that significant day.

No wonder political injustices always exist in our government, Leaders like Emilio Aguinaldo and Teodoro Patiño including those arrogant members of their league, they only care about their self-interests whether good or bad. If it wasnt also because of Andres Bonifacio, Filipino will not be more motivated to fight back and still at the end of time, mga asal hay*p parin ang nakikinabang sa mga efforts ng mga mahihirap. And thats the reality of life

I love history.... Thank you for making this video..

It Failed because of that DAMN AGUINALDO WHO KILLED GEN.LUNA AND BONIFACIO BROTHERS.

Aguinaldo was not the 1st President

BUT ADRES BONIFACIO

AGUINALDO WAS A DAMN TRAITOR TOGETHER WITH HIS ADVISERS.

I was wondering, why are so many Filipino dessert names Spanish swears? When my family has potlucks and we bring out the desserts, this is always a popular discussion. One joke my mother made up is that they are named this way because of the Spanish colonization.

Apolinario Mabini, one of the heroes of the Philippines who is known as "The Brains of the Revolution" and "The Great Lame" due of his polio that confined him in wheelchair and also one of Aguinaldo's allies, admitted in his journal that the Philippine Revolution has FAILED after the Philippine government under Emilio Aguinaldo executes Andres Bonifacio. He also said that this was the beginning of the end of national independence of the Philippines and the start of the self interest of power of the Philippines. Even General Antonio Luna, one of the most competent Philippine military generals and a controversial figure also warn that the real enemy of the Filipinos isn't the Americans but themselves.

Years later, Mabini's words as well Luna's were indeed true as the Philippine even though was declared independence in 1898, was still struggling due of corruption, greed, political dynasties, self interest of power within government and dysfunctional society as many Millennials and history buffs pointed Aguinaldo, the first president of the Philippines was the reason why these problems still happening to this day. They were right all along.

As Churchill have said: "History is written by the victors". We might not know what really happened then, though our histoty our greatness unfaillingly surfaces - that because of too much oppression we unite ourselves into a single force and initially with a common goal. But due to Spanish infulence (thier bad traits which "namana na natin") like being oppresive to our fellow Filipinos. It is very regretfull to know that when the time is ripe that we can administer ourselves and thats the time devisiveness strikes. Perhaps thats really the fate of our country as it needed more maturity to be governed by Filiipinos ourselves.
