I’ve been to Syria back in 2010. There’s one suburb of Damascus had a large community of Afghan Shia community near a shrine . I’ve asked them when they moved here & most of them said 60s 70s some also said they been in here since late 1800s

So sad all the instability that has gone on in the region for decades specially Lebanon and more so Syria the last 10 years… Syria is basically destroyed. When I was back home In greece there was so many Syrian refugees I could hear Arabic spoken on the street in patra where I’m from almost as much as Greek … it was hard to watch because Greece has been economically devastated and destroyed since 2008 or maybe earlier so the country was not and is still not in the position to help these poor people greece couldn’t even help their own nationals for the longest….
