One of if not thee yes thee worst skinny limbed review on the entire internet stupidly annoying on all levels.
ОтветитьAmazing a official full Size Spare ? How lucky can one be.The absolute best feature on the ugly duckling. Not even a friggin stupidly called space saver donut low mile an hour oddball size tire.
ОтветитьNot only is this the stupidly ugliest appliance thing Toyota ever made & must have been a happily fired Datsun rouge So-called designer who crackhead like penned this thing, & Where the hell is the friggin P for Park on a automatic ? , Completely stupidly dumb No P for Park feature anywhere to be seen, now that Simply matches how God awful ugly & disturbing both screwups are.
ОтветитьHey there does it have a clutch
ОтветитьI have a UK version one of these in the same colour. It's such a nice car to drive. I'm not a massive fan of the styling, and I hate the wheels, I had a couple of the mk1's but it was hard to stay on top of the rust. This feels nothing like the mk1, but it's nice nonetheless, and the UK cars got an LSD differential.
ОтветитьIt is a girl's car that has the potential to be a BAD ASS guy's car... i just got one 2 days ago. Im enjoying it as much as i can over the next month, then i will be putting it into storage through the winter. Some time around April, i will be taking it out of storage and putting it into a shop to get a built turbo Honda K20 that will be tuned to about 600 whp. Then the following summer, i will be putting a widebody kit, chassis mounted wing, wider rims, sticky tires, suspension upgrades, a rear diffuser and a paint job. I am hell bent on having an MR2 that will not only turn heads, but also show every one its tail lights at will.
ОтветитьMy dream car back in the day was a 2004 Toyota Celica. I was crazy about the rear windshield wiper. They were sharp.
ОтветитьGoofiest ?? Oh yeah, sold !!! Wow... ok, thanks for turning me off forever to this. ;)
ОтветитьSo stupid to see the top open with those top mess on the back. Why doesn t it look flat?
ОтветитьIt looks like a Porsche baby boxster. And I love them. I will put in Porsche Boxster engine. Or a inline 5 like the Audi tt
ОтветитьI owned one...great beach cruiser and took a corner like it was on a rail!
ОтветитьDid you precat this mr2? Some said it will have long engine life span if you precat manifold. ? And how is the life span of sequential gear?
ОтветитьWell it's a long review but at least there will be an extensive road test... Ah, maybe not!
ОтветитьIf you can't tell this is a sports car... Cmon
ОтветитьI own one of these. The engines have a bad history of burning oil, followed by engine failure as they get miles put on them. Mine blew @112k. Not one of Toyota’s best. The extra precat it has vs the other toyotas with the same engine is thought to contribute to engine failure issues The sequential shift also has had lots of issues, often solved by converting to manual shifter, which will cost you around $2500 to have replaced. The 2zz engine is a popular engine swap, which is the engine used in the Celtics GT-S at the time. It was also the same engine supplied to the Lotus Elise. Personally I feel Toyo never shifted to that engine because it would affect and devalue the Lotus. That’s a shame because it’s an otherwise sweet ride and handling is superb.
ОтветитьThe red and black interior is so ugly.
Ответитьi had mine and it got taken to the pound yard. :(
ОтветитьOne of the best car make.
Ответитьjust test drove a spyder and loved it and also test drove a Boxster S, and prefer the MR-S. but please,, for the love of... stop referring to this car as "girly" having a "big rounded back end." a little respect please.
ОтветитьHow is this in the snow with winter tires?
Ответитьis that pee on the ground?
ОтветитьOwned a 2002, best car I ever owned. The VVTI engine was a POS. Died at 120k due to poor design of the pre-catalytic converters.
ОтветитьBest review sales man ever
ОтветитьDoes this car roll back when stopped on an uphill road?
ОтветитьI actually plan on buying a third gen Toyota mr2 in about a year and i found a good condition mr2 with 100.000km on it. Should i buy it?
Ответитьis the roof snowproof? also, is $7200 too much to pay for one with 67k miles?
ОтветитьDoes it have a trunk? If it does I’m definitely buying this car
Ответитьwould you be able to replace the radio system so that theres an aux cord?
ОтветитьIs the SMT version any good? Or does the upshift time really kill it?
There are 2 really clean ones available here and the cheaper one is SMT.
I'll mainly use the MR2 as a weekend car and canyon carver.
The car isn't designed to be the most beautiful. It's designed to be the most fun. No one will ever say it's as pretty as a z3, for instance... But anyone who has driven the two knows which one gets more smiles per gallon.
Ответитьive watched so many videos trying to figure out that transmission, thank you for actually explaining it!

Ответитьi could be wrong, but it is the same engine as an Elise or Exige.
ОтветитьI bought an 02 japanese spec mr2 from a good a friend for £2.5k just week ago (am internal features as an 04 EU model - AC etc- . slip diff and larger tires are the things to look out for for japanese specs (1.8 & 2.2 bar) . this car drives so well. love it. *40K miles
ОтветитьYou touched where the farts are.
ОтветитьHow do you turn the windows back up?
Ответитьwhere is the air intake for the cabin, is it that grill below the windscreen.
Where is the air filter for the cabin?
U can give cars a gender lol
ОтветитьThe back is NOT going to be raised up and the wheels are almost the same in terms of height. 16 and 15 inches are rim diameters. The tires, although sit on different rims, only differ in 0.6 inch, front being smaller (that is if the tires were stock size). This car has non-stock tires, probably because the back tires in 215/45R16 size are rare and a bit more expensive. The front tires should be 185/55R15.
ОтветитьI just got this car with about 80k mileage on it; I'm excited :D
Ответитьdoes anyone have a video of mr2 around 2002 replacing the top?
Ответитьwhats difference between mr2 and Mrs??
ОтветитьIt's funny how both Toyota and gm use their compact steering wheels for the corvette and mr2 spider 😂😂😂
ОтветитьNeed to fix those Spyder ears! When the roof was down 2 distinctive flaps arose at either side. To fix, partially raise the roof, and connect the central strap and they are drawn in so the roof sits snugly into the cavity, the this aids the roof function (pre-delivery oversight).
Re luggage space, appalling. Behind the seat cubbies are great for a couple of overnight bags (if you remove the internal trim, you can fit a set of golf clubs, well the car was designed in Japan) and maybe another bag in the front (frunk). But I also have a van, so if I want to move stuff, no problem, but I don't drive the van for fun, that is what the Spyder is for.
Nice clean Spyder, the leather trim is after market, just cannot understand why they did not do the soft material door insert in red leather to match. MGF rip-off.
One final thing, Humble, Texas, oxymoron, since when was anyone humble that came from Texas? Please do not take offense, it is a compliment.
"they may look like something a highschooler would get as his or her first car" haha funny im thinking about getting this as my first car
ОтветитьGreat car. HIGHLY underrated and better then the Mazda Miata.
One of the best cars to ever come out of japan
