I'm watching and listening to this in the light of the Russell Brand rape accusations. It's a truely unenviable situation for whoever is responsible. It's a sad indictment of the human condition despite being more informed (supposedly) in our current time.

And talk about change...the word..is not the thing.

The casting couch is just a smoke screen for what’s really going on in Hollywood. It’s far more sinister and evil. They should be asked what they know about all the children being trafficked, passed around, and in many cases murdered at the hands of these monsters in LA.

Any woman who pays attention to her radar had to know that Weinstein was a predator and was as ugly on the inside as he’s always been on the outside. Too bad so many were victim to him before he was finally brought down. What Matt Damon said about self-esteem and his daughters protecting themselves is gross. If he still thinks that way, he really needs to listen to women, take a good hard look at the reality, and get educated. Clooney was a lot better: he said "we're all complicit" and "we're all going to have to be responsible... to make it impossible to happen." I hope that he wasn't just talking about Hollywood because each of us is complicit not around Weinstein specifically but regarding rape culture. If we've been victimized, we're certainly not complicit in those experiences, but outside of that, no matter how well informed one is, no matter how feminist one is, no matter what sex or gender, no matter what our experiences, we have to keep a critical lens on ourselves. It's easy to just condemn others but we've all been conditioned to disregard women so no matter how well intentioned, we all have to admit that it's possible that we ourselves have room to improve. That's especially true for men but being a woman, intersexed, trans, or non-binary doesn't automatically mean that we're free from responsibility for the larger problem of gender inequality.

Harvey Weinstein did not kill or maim anyone, but was portrayed in the media like a serial killer and eventually convicted like a serial killer. Some women may disagree with Weinstein's concept of sexuality, but that doesn't make Weinstein a bloodthirsty rapist. All the women he invited knew he was crazy about women and sex, and they were all grown women. Weinstein needs long-term psychological therapy. Psychologists know that personality changes are a very long process. Weinstein doesn't belong in jail, it takes time and he needs to understand and accept on a basic interpersonal level that not everything that feels good for him is good for others. An additional alternative would also be a drug to reduce sex drive. Again, Weinstein is a patient and definitely doesn't belong in prison.
