Normal: worry situational response. Anxiety can be good if it's normal amount. Anxiety goes away when issue goes away. Not normal: Not letting go of worries. All day every day worries. or opposite side; Psychopathy.

I hate when people think I'm being dramatic or tell me Don't worry, just be happy. They minimize my anxiety like it's not a real thing. Overthinking, over worrying, not being able to make a decision. I remember being having anxiety as early as 3, but didn't know what it was. I don't even tell people anymore about my anxiety because they will just roll their eyes and tell me to get over it

This is amazing - perfectly describes my anxiety journey. I have always had anxiety that i could control - then last year i had a series of very stressful events and my anxiety just exploded- i am in my early 50’s - i am on medication and am having talking therapy- i feel i am slowly coming back . Videos like this really help me - make me feel i am not on my own .

What when "other stuff" doesn't really come? Or when one is longterm sleepless and lacks life-energy to process effeiciently? Or when solved stuff get replaced with new stress -ruminating from psychiatry--mistreatment, neglecct, sloppiness in examination and withholding of therapy? Is that also the patient's faults?

I ruminate over anxiety and depression sadly, what caused this episode? When will it subside ect? There doesn’t have to be an event or specific trigger at least for me anyway. Some days I’m free from it but other times it’s a crippling 24/7 for days on end. This crap isn’t easy! Yes I’ve tried so many free resources, psychiatrists, psychologists, self help books. I think some people like me have a genetic flaw

I used to have really bad social anxiety so I started going places with my sister all the time and then friends as I got more comfortable and now they are gone so I have to go out by myself which is doable (I try to stay home as much as possible or deal with extra stomch pain, having to go to work five days a week hurts my stomach enough hy) but my anxiety has become more general and my stomach feels like it is always churning and I'm always nauseous and randomly puking and I am on meds... I have accepted this is my life lol

It was so helpful to hear that it’s not unusual for people who seem outgoing to have social anxiety disorder. I have experienced some imposter syndrome regarding diagnosis, because- in the eyes of my family- I was always the “social butterfly.” The truth is, though, that for years I had to consume large amounts of alcohol to be that outgoing, friendly person. Inside I was petrified and could not have worked with the public or gone to a restaurant with friends without self-medicating. Much better now, though. And sober.

Positive provocation helped me with this problem. Friends accept that you have anxiety and push you to go and discover what scares you. The more you venture out and face your fears, the more you discover that the world is not what you think, because the reality of anxiety is the first perception you learn about the world as a ruling world, a dangerous world, or other things that we learn. About the world in our childhood and make us anxious
Positive provocation from a group that shares the same values as you is very helpful or buy yourself jamp there and
Take a risk

Anxiety is not a joke. Anxiety can not be taken lightly. Anxiety is a serious illness for some people. Obviously there is a difference between normal anxiety and severe anxiety. Some people have taken their lives due to uncontrolled anxiety. Many people require medication and therapy.

I've had GAD, social anxiety, agoraphobia of and on, MDP, and CPTSD since I can remember. At 25 years old, and after more than a decade of different therapies/counsellors/medications, I finally found something to help me. I was having my first appointment with my current counsellor, and she gently cut me off when I was in the middle of verbally explaining the rumination I was stuck in. She then took me through a guided 'anchoring' using ACE. Life changing moment there. I will always be grateful for my counsellors kindness, patience, and the techniques she has been teaching me.

I wonder why people don’t mention about dyslexia and anxiety disorder? 🤔

I didn’t realize that I had anxiety disorder until I was redignosed with dyslexia, dyscalculia, and irlens syndrome. I just thought it was normal to feel the way I did. But now learning more about it, it makes a lot of sense. Especially how it correlates to my shingle flare ups that I started having at age 24. Also how it links even to me not wanting to have kids. Also m my hands and feet always being hot and dripping sweat all the time lol!

I think just like with any diagnoses, when you tell people about it, they water it down by saying everyone feels that way. So you think it’s normal and you should “get over it”, but in fact it controls your big life decisions. I know for me I push myself to get comfortable to the uncomfortable.
