Fruits are not an occasional food, they are a never food. No, your beardy wont die. But they cannot peoxess fructose. Its best to avoid completely.

I don't remove the stem but I do break the stem up I make it work small enough where they can fit it in their mouth because I know their jaw is strong enough to crush it and if it is not strong enough I split them so they can actually chew it better it holds more of the moisture so I don't want to waste it when my bearded dragon likes it more then the actual greens themselves which it's been awhile and I need to get her to try to eat them again since she's just been eating roaches for a while I guess I have to start eating some of these in front of her so she can start eating them again

Your animal will love to watch you break up the food I don't know why but they get some kind of entertainment out of it

@baraka490
@baraka490 - 02.06.2024 11:34

If the food is too tough for the dragon chop it up to smaller beds so they can fit it in their mouth and their bite force should be able to crush it I know this because I had my bearded dragon bite me once but not intentional it was because she was trying to eat something she wasn't supposed to I saw this stuck my finger in her mouth trying to get it out I did get it out she was not happy but I got it out found out that force was way strong and I know how strong it is so I don't have to go and find this really big rock or whatever to crush it either way she's happy I'm happy I know exactly what I need how much force is for her to be able to crush it I know it all I done the tests I'm great with it the only thing is verifying that she actually enjoys the food I don't know why it's kind of like a human thing where you eat something for a while and you just don't want it she no longer eats crickets for some reason so it's just roaches superworms hornworms and occasional trying to get her to eat veggies add fruits never forget the fruits

Ответить
@baraka490
@baraka490 - 02.06.2024 11:39

If you want an example of how strong their bite force is grab a french fry from let's just say McDonald's (I am not saying feed the fry to the dragon) and try to squeeze the fry after its hardened it's like a rock but they can crush that I know this because the little one tried to steal one that I didn't see and was crushing it I managed to get a lot of it out of the mouth

It's not doobie I know you're a pothead I am too but clearly you don't know what you're talking about it's Dubai you know the location? It's a real location! So say the location and then roach then you can actually get the name correct might be a little hard for you there's a lot of people say it wrong probably because they like doobies more

Don't listen to her about the hornworms the size does not matter as long as they can actually eat it so make sure it's at least smaller than its mouth needs to open about halfway I had one that was bigger than my middle finger my bearded dragon is about full-sized she eats the whole thing she raise down for a bit but doesn't sleep she is watching what I am doing and relaxing and then later goes for some roaches sometimes the kale or whatever veggie I put in there I also feed apples if she doesn't the roaches will eat it and produce more roaches

Thank you for making this video. I don't even have a bearded dragon. But my daughter was asking for one. I have not jumped the gun yet to get one. The reason is because I know NOTHING about taking care of them(mainly feeding them properly). I only thought you have to feed crickets, and I was like ew. I don't wanna give it crickets! I HATE CRICKETS! I also HATE ROACHES! Bearded dragons might not be for me! lol I decided to come and study and get educated on the maintenance and proper feeding+ care for a bearded dragon! So thank you for making this video and educating me!

They love dandelion greens but it has been taken off of the daily list and added to the occasional list due to oxalates. Also yellow squash since the sugars it has. My fmdragon kept gaining weight and I couldn't figure out why. It was the yellow squash.

We are having a lot of trouble getting our baby to eat any vegetables. He also turns his nose up at meal worms more and more. He loves the crickets and lately that's the most we've been able to get him to eat. I always try the salad and worms first, but he will hold out all day long until we give him the crickets. We are new to this, so I don't know how concerned I should be or what I can do other than just keep trying. . . Is there a point when they just suddenly decide they like vegetables now or. . . I've only gotten him to eat a bite of veggies a handful of times. In the 2 weeks that we've had him.

I basically got a rescue dragon, didn’t want him at the time, but felt compelled to because I’m the reptile guy in my community and knew he’d not be in good care if I didn’t. He’s an adult and was in a small ass cage and only fed crickets out of a can. We’ve made great strides with live food, but he hardly eats anything besides super worms and hornworms. It’s not like I don’t try to feed him greens but he will only eat a bite or two once in a blue moon. Oh well, he seems healthy enough. It’s been three years now and he’s my pal, was watching tv in bed with him just today.

Feeding and diet - Australian Museum

These omnivorous lizards feed on vegetation including fruit and leaves in the wild, as well as any invertebrates (including ants and beetles) and small vertebrates (such as lizards) that they can catch.

The captive diet for this species at the Australian Museum is provided in three feeds within a period of a week. These consist of a small feed of chopped vegetables on one day, a small serving of kangaroo mince on another day as well a hand full of cockroaches and crickets for the third feeding. The timing and order of the diet is changed around to simulate natural conditions and prevent stereotypical behaviour (where an animal will have predicable activity patterns and essentially be waiting to be fed). This food is supplemented with calcium and vitamin powder to ensure that a nutritionally balanced diet is provided.

Discoid roaches are legal in Florida. Also they are similar in behavior and breeding needs. Also leagal in florida are the green banana roach ,horseshoe crab roach, death's head roach, palllid roach and surinim roach. Why I mention them is because some species of roach do not look exactly like the common german or american roach and some people get creeped out by them. Maybe you could find an suggest other breeds for those who get creeped out by roaches. I only mention this as I am in a few bearded dragon groups and a lot of people are creeped out by Dubia's. Also the austrailian roach doesn't look like a common roach and is legal in Canada. Florida and Canada are 2 places in north America that don't allow dubia roaches.
