Monsterverse openings have a very Analogue horror vibe.

Rewatching this in 2024, Legendary has some of the beat opening credits

Cool intro very memorable

This made me love godzilla at first sight

I liked more realistic feel of this movie compared to the new Monter verse movies. They all look too cartoonish/Anime now. Some people might like that, but i don’t.

2024 marks the 10th anniversary of the Monsterverse. Hopefully Godzilla x Kong can deliver.

Another reason I love this movie is because how grounded it is, compared to the rest of the monsterverse movies like the army trying to stop Godzilla but failing and they feel like they can’t do anything else, I love that, but I have a question, how did we go from helicopters attacking and people fleeing, to futuristic spacecraft machines that can go to the centre of the earth?!

Does someone know what is the instrument that sounds like a train whistle at the end ?

Something I appreciate about this movie is how eerie they made Godzilla swim. I always liked this design for the dorsal fins more because it just looks like a cursed island full of jagged spikes. Just constantly still moving in one direction.

still the best monsterverse movie by a landslide

I remember my friends took me to see this and I didn’t really know much about Godzilla, so I was pretty nonchalant about it. But when this opening came on I was hooked and ready

I wish the Monsterverse kept the tone of Godzilla 2014. Godzilla KOTM and Kong Skull Island were great movies that came after it and I dislike how Godzilla vs Kong and the media coming after it feel so cartoony and Hollywood in a way. This intro sequence along with the theme song will forever be the best in the franchise

As a kid I thought it was 1954 Godzilla but they nuked it so it grew twice size larger.

My favorite monsterverse movie,togheter with skull island,these two feel the most natural and feel like smth more possible to happen in our world,not just like the new movies where Goji becomes Goku and kong has a metal arm LOL

I must say i love the far more realistic suspense/thriller like atmosphere and story that 2014 and Kong skull island had, afterwards it became a little too much for my taste except the fact that we got more kaiju action but that was about it.

Seeing this opening montage intro in the cinemas was so awesome.

That opening music gave me the chills . Completely underrated track.

I've been obsessed w this opening since 2014, and the fact they made a whole scene out of this, for ep 3 of Monarch, is giving me life!!!

Theres less people watching in the monarch series though im assuming there are separate groups watching the scene im not so sure. One thing i think they changed is that the nuke in this intro detinated alot quicker than in the series and godzilla rising fully to shore instead of briefly, also the nuke color is yellow in this and yet its quite the dark-ish grey in the series.
