I live in the US and have some hearing issues, but cannot find a practice that does micro suction! I think I’ll wait until I can go to the UK and see you guys or just go deaf in the meantime lol!

People do still use olive oil for things like ears in the U.S.A., but it's called "sweet oil" and comes in a little brown bottle that looks like some kind of extract or essence container. I've never used it as such, but I'm aware of it.

I laughed when you said the plug made a sound when it hit the floor. As long as you don’t drop it down a woman’s shirt you boys will be ok. Lol

I live in the US and when I was young when I would get an earache my mom would warm some oil(I highly doubt it was olive oil) and would have me tilt my head and she would pour a small dose in my ear and the put a cotton ball (not a cotton bud or qtip) at the entrance of my ear canal. Worked like a charm.

No and when you have an ear infection they give you eye drops to use in your ears it’s crazy

I'm that one freak of nature that actually doesn't make enough ear wax. I use mullein-infused olive oil (I was using an oil that also had garlic but then my ears smelled like pizza) before I go swimming, or the water washes out what little protection is in my ears, and then they dry out and ache! I once freaked out a doctor who announced: "your eardrums are completely denuded of wax!"

Before I started watching wax removal videos, I had a very dry itchy ear canal so I inserted EVOO with a dropper and it did the trick. When I told my GP about it in PA, she was shocked and confused. Now I have the medical grade olive oil (from Amazon) on hand just in case. I haven’t had to go to an ENT or audiologist yet.

In the US audiologist refers to olive oil as sweet oil and they do suggest it.
