A Great video!... essential viewing for beginner accordionists!!
I learned to play the accordion always sitting down and that caused major issues when I decided to play standing up because my left arm & shoulder had no stamina or strength & became exhausted quickly! I think it’s important to do a bit of both always. Also left hand straps adjustment is essential for control of the bellows... If anyone suffers from back problems, a “tie” strap across the back is a must as it stops your shoulders slouching forward! 👍😊
Have you developed any back pain from playing standing up? My accordion is 30 pounds, so if I play standing up for a long time, I crush my traps and wreck my back.
Very good video, but as a general rule, your back should never lean against the chair. You should sit at the very edge of your seat. Cheers!
brilliant... excellent teaching style. well done
ОтветитьDo you know how to play the button accordion?
ОтветитьAgain! This answers sooo many questions that have been in my mind since i started playing. Thanks! 5/5
ОтветитьHallo Moshe. Thanks for this video i am a beginner with the accordeon but play music for years on keyboard . To play the left side of the accordeon is a little bit heavy
ОтветитьAnother thing folks can experiment with is playing with the lower bellows strap done up. It won't suit everyone, particularly those with small accordions, and of course there are minuses to it, but it's the way I play. I find it tires my left arm less, and improves the accuracy of my bass playing.
ОтветитьI mean u can wear it like that it's just what ever your comfortable
Ответитьmy accordion has 96 basses and its too big for me, because im 165 cm. and its wery hard for me for open and close it. you are very cute in this video
Ответитьgood videos. can you teache minus a major chords with scales? thanks
Ответитьplaying the bass/guitar super low has destroyed many spines so keep that in mind!
ОтветитьGreat video! Just got my first accordion and this was very helpful.
ОтветитьTotally helpful video. Thank you so much.
ОтветитьHi Moshe, I just got a used accordion today and started to learn playing it. Your video is very helpful. Thank you . The accordion guard is such a good idea. You suggested I should get an accordion guard. Mine accordion doesn’t have one, do you know where I could order one? Thank you.
ОтветитьI find it easier to play standing up. I feel like I'm holding the accordion up with my left arm. Is this due to posture?
Thank you so much BTW 💜
Thank you, my friend, you really help me)
ОтветитьNow I know what’s best! Thank you.
Ответитьbeautiful accordion omg
ОтветитьI think I need to adjust mine down a little. My accordion teacher always has me sit at lessons.
ОтветитьHello, whats the song you played? And do you have the letter notes of it??? 🙏🏻
ОтветитьThanks for sharing 👍🏼👌🏼🪗
Ответитьhave the both straps the same length when you wear it?
Thank you for sharing! Would you know where best to buy new straps?
Clear and informative. Tq.
ОтветитьTo help avoid back pain, wear a back strap. It also helps to keep the accordion on your body when you bend over to pick up a piece of sheet music that fell on the floor. I have been playing for over 50 years and I have no back aches from playing. The aches I get are from setting up and taking down band equipment.
ОтветитьAwesome, Young Man! I have played for many decades and never had it explained to me so easily and professionally! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
ОтветитьHi Ronen - Very nice way of explaining body-accordion positions. However- age takes its own toll. Having lost approx 4" in height, (never realised till measured in a medical facility) I find it now difficult to play sitting on a chair in an upright manner (wish I could ? ) . I therefore have no choice but to play leaning backwards on a chair as shown by you towards the end of your beautiful video. Besides, the standard length of a 120 bass accordion (Atlantic etc ), is generally 19'' inches and now it leaves hardly any room between the accordion. ( I do not know length of your accordion - guess 18" ?) . It is uncomfortable for sure - but I still enjoy playing it, despite some discomfort- my own way - accordion being my personal obsession - my delightful hobby since my teens ! Just shared my own views and experience- may be of some help to some one in late age group and who enjoys playing this 'prettyful' instrument ? Please keep doing the good work. Warm Regards.
ОтветитьNever look at the buttons😀😀😀
ОтветитьVery helpful! Thank you!
ОтветитьHow you wear your accordion depends on the size of the instrument and the size of the player.
ОтветитьGreat video, as a freshman I was looking for information like this, to be able to get it right from the start. Thank you very much!
Ответить...and you don't have to wear shoes. ;]
ОтветитьThank you so much 👍😊
ОтветитьMY BEST FRIEND BROKE ONE OF THE HANDLES OF HIS ACCORDION AND I DON'T KNOW IF IT WAS BECAUSE HE DIDN'T PUT THE ACCORDION WELL. SO I WILL SHOW THIS VIDEO AND I AM GOING TO GIVE AWAY THE CAUSE... LOL
ОтветитьWould love to see him play the accordion with his teeth. =P
ОтветитьGood Job !
ОтветитьThanks
ОтветитьTHANK YOU SOOOO MUCH !!! I'm learning accordion on my own, and your advices (in all your videos ) are tremendously helping ! See you on Accordion Love :)
ОтветитьThank you 🙏😄
ОтветитьVery helpfull.
ОтветитьYou are a good instructor. Thanks for keeping things simple and to the point. Great job!
Ответитьoh my god the matching clothes to your accordion are amazing
ОтветитьExcellent! Thank you so much!
ОтветитьHow does one hit the left hand buttons?
I just got an accordion and I'm unable to see the keys on the left hand.
Do all of the 4 fingers (excluding the thumbs) play the left hand, or just a select few?
No socks haha
ОтветитьI have two full size accordions (the BIG ones) and I'm so short that when I sit down with them the top comes up to my nose. Both of them need new straps because they're old and even at their tightest position the accordion still sits a bit low. I do have a 120 bass that's a lot smaller (similar to the one in this video), that I mostly use but the reactions I get when people see me playing the full size ones and how big they are are pretty funny. Both my full sizes have REALLY wide extra padded straps and are surprisingly comfortable to play despite their size. (I'm 5'3", so I'm on the shorter side)
ОтветитьYou've helped me a lot! Thanks ;)
ОтветитьMy shoulder straps are as long as I can make them but they still don't position my accordion the way I want it, it doesn't hang down far enough. Are there different shoulder straps for men, women, and children? I have a full size Federfisa General that I just purchased and it's not quite low enough for me even though the straps are as long as I can make them. Makes it not quite comfortable enough to be able to learn.
ОтветитьGreat video! I just got a 26/48 beginner accordion and after a few days trying to play it decided that beginners straps don't fit my full size body. Ordering new straps tonight.
