Betelgeuse is about 400 light-years away,it's not that big a threat to Earth by going Supernova,it might already have, either way there is nothing humanity can do about it,so why worry?

The NDT comment was from our sun’s future. It’s not related to Betelgeuse.

It’s so interesting how advanced humans are , it makes you think we are the aliens if you really sit back and take in our intelligence. Look at all of our achievements, society and the list goes on compared to all other life forms . What other life forms create things to better and improve their lives ? We are the only ones that create out of desire for better lives or making life easier cars , planes , helicopters, homes etc and if that’s not enough we are here on this video and we know of space and the ocean etc even tho are life doesn’t correlate around these places the fact that we know all we know is impressive . Animals don’t have a clue about what’s going on but we are intelligent to the point where we involve ourselves with so much instead of just living like nature does

Don't run out of faith: This is the main concern for mankind. Yes, We will not survive unless we chose to be on The Creator's Character side. Our only life-threatening menace is in us. God is Good and The Life is Eternal, apart From God there's no eternal life. Our great need recommend us in God's eyes. The Essence Of God's Character Is Love, Mercy, and Justice. Jesus Christ fulfilled all of God's Justice, being the only Just that lived on Earth. Whosoever believes in Jesus Christ remaining in His Love and friendship recovers eternal Life. God Is Eternal Life and He Is willing to give Eternal Life to Jesus's believers and friends as His Son's brothers.

So i get that the dim cycles are expulsion of gases, or the cannibalism of a planet in that solar system......it hurts my imagination to think another technologically advanced race has been snuffed out......there is no fermi paradox!....either your technology or a natural event resets your evolution......we have not yet learned how to exist beyond natural evolution.....because we can explain it all day, but never master it!

Anyone who knows a little about astronomy knows it takes a long time before the light from a distant star reaches earth.
If this star is over 600 light years from earth then it would take 600 years before we could see an event that happened 600
years ago. As far as these astronomers know this star could have already gone supernova.

What we see now happened centuries ago. We have no way to protect ourselves from any ill effect it may have produced ( if any ) . Just enjoy the show .

Lots of incorrect assumptions and inaccurate comments here. Betelgeuse is 642.5 light years from Earth, therefore, what we are observing now is the status of this star as it was 642 years ago. Astronomers have seen evidence that the star may go supernova, but there is no way to predict when that might happen -- or even if it will. However, it is unlikely that any of us now will be alive to see it go supernova since it still has to go through certain phases before exploding, which could possibly take between 10,000 and 100,000 years. Whenever the event is seen, it actually happened 642 years before we are seeing it.

It's logical:
This is why the evolution of intelligent life phase is rare in the universe and life doesn't evolve further from microbe phase outside this vicinity of the milkyway.
You can observe black holes, supernova and similar phenomena occurring at billions of light years distance only.
If you think such stuff existed nearby, the life wouldn't have evolved into intelligent phase in this vicinity of milkyway. If we had to be the victims of a supernova, we wouldn't have evolved in those conditions nearby.
This is logical and one of the reasons, the intelligent life is rare in milkyway or elsewhere.
