How to Homebrew Your Nintendo 3DS (11.16)

Out of nowhere 11.17.0-50 has been released for the Nintendo 3DS firmware in all regions.

It seems "stability" is the only information Nintendo has given us about the update.

It seems the System Settings, eShop app, and Internet Browser were updated. For US-region 3DSes, the HOME menu was also updated.

Here's what you should know:

◉ If your device is running Luma 10.2.1 or higher, it is 100% safe to update. You can check your Luma version by holding (Select) while booting your device.

◉ If your device is on an older Luma version, you should update Luma before you update your device to 11.17.0.

◉ If your device does not yet have custom firmware, do NOT update to the latest version, as installation methods are currently unclear.

I plan to create an 11.17.0 tutorial once more information is known about it.
However, in the meantime, I will release a video on how you can update to this version if you already have a modded system. So make sure you stay tuned!

In the Installing Boot9Strap part, where I go back into the Nintendo 3DS file to put the new DSiWare folder in there. I have two long codes, as I did at first, becuase you said to put the "Old" folder back in as it was before. Which one do I put it in?

Also, in both those files, where I'm normally supposed to put the DSiWare folder, there's only 1 folder already in there and not three. That one folder is extdata.

Hi, congratulations for the video and the explanation, but before starting I have 2/3 questions The first, I have version 11.16 but it asks for an update What I do? Should I wait or do it first? Second thing, after having done all the procedures and installed everything Will it be possible to see the 3ds screen on PC? okay so ive tried this on both of my 2ds and new 2ds xl and when i get to the dsiware sd card tab, theres just the item there but it doesnt pull up a black screen, what did i do wrong?

I already have a homebrewed 2ds but this guy explaining it makes me want to mod another
