How to Become a CNC Machinist

I've become an entry level machinist recently. I've been on the job exactly 3 weeks and already I'm running 3 machines, lathe, Axis 3 mill, and tumbler. No prior experience and just a ged.
It seems easy. The worst part is all the general labor. Clean the machines etc. It's pretty enjoyable.

Sadly here in CT I didn't have the option to go to such a fancy school like this one, they only have small tech centers. I got in the door and learned the traditional way, picked up skills over the years with the guidance of some amazing toolmakers and machinist and never stopped! Thankfully I now have a great position as a programmer and set-up machinist at a local shop. Machining gave me a chance at living a decent life and raise a family. Great career choice for anyone if you take it serious! You never stop learning! You have to have a passion for this or it won't be as fulfilling.

An actual apprenticeship in machining or tool and die making is much better, IF you can find one! Trade schools are becoming more like colleges and universities... You take out a student loan, spend a certain amount of years in training, and MAYBE you MIGHT find a decent paying entry-level job in the field, and maybe you DON'T, but there's still a matter of that student loan you must pay back, regardless of whether you are gainfully employed, or checking out groceries or serving lattes for minimum wage!

CNC Machinist dead end job. . . . There's a reason there's a shortage. . . SHIT JOB LOW PAY . . . LOW pay & max out $25-$30hr after 20 years . . . . . WAKE UP ! . . . YOUR IN FANTASY LAND if you think $50-$70k year is a Liveable wage today with housing & living expenses
