Problem solved!!
I thought it was coming from the shadings and was about to head out and get parts to dismantle it.
It just so had a had the seal pack in my car.
Question....does the filter slow down the pressure and flow of the water intake?

I’m pretty sure I have this exact unit, Simpson. So mine is spraying water from the back of the pump and shooting up towards the engine, especially when not on the trigger. I try to stay on the trigger when not spraying, but it can be difficult when changing attachments, getting up and down ladders, or adjusting hose. Is my pump going bad??
