Terrible tragedy that took a heavy toll on humanity ninety years ago but today it's getting much worse, not just economically. The rise of drug abuse, sexual license, race pirates, lawlessness, greed, pride has all but erased empathy for life. The Bible declares that at the end of the age people will be self-lovers with no moral standards which will bring in the great tribulation that will last seven years. The Bible declares that will be a time far worse than anything the world has ever experienced before or ever will again. It will be worse than all the wars, economic and natural disasters put together. I hope that scares the hell out of some people because the gospel of Christ offers salvation to all, grace, forgiveness and eternal life, and you don't need to spare a dime.

I get surprised by the epic looters called the United Kingdom. How can a group immoral of countries that looted the entire world turned into beggars in just a few days.

My great grand parents born consecutively in 1888 had stories about events in their farming ranching life that would turn your hair white and give you instant wrinkles. One passed away in 1979 and the other 1981. Both were healthy right to the end. They rarely agreed on anything but there were two things they did agree on wholeheartedly. They are the main topics of this post. A good lesson for all.

One more story. My dad's family went to this little mom and pop grocery store. The owner gave food on credit. After my dad came back from World war 2, he went to that store and asked if anyone paid him back. The owner said every single one paid me back.

My mom and dad were teenagers in the great depression. Dad quit school to help his family financially. 3 generations living in 1 house, all 13 and over looking for work. My mom said she seldom saw her dad as he would travel to find work. Her mom created meals from just the little food they had, barely enough to survive.

Poverty always has been, and always will be a source of social conflict.

The new deal built suburban America. Period.

Stop turning your nose up at people that need help. The government FUNDED, sponsored, and financed programs to support job creation, home building, and elderly/ family financial support.

Stop being STUBBORN to help homeless and other struggling populations.

You did not create YOUR OPPORTUNITY by yourself. You were the BENEFICIARY of government programs before you!

Did you work hard, sure. BUT YOU STILL NEEDED help and opportunity.

You can't give everyone MONEY but you CAN give them LAND, ANIMALS (ie. Chickens to produce edible eggs), and TINY HOMES.

Allow people to build a foundation so they may compete in Capitalism. Be included in Capitalism. Not discarded and forgotten about.

Poverty CAN be ended, but it takes SUPPORT, understanding, and CREATIVITY.

Stop shaming people for living in tents and being addicted to drugs.

THEY NEED HELP. Just like your parents (or grandparents) from the 1920s did.

I believe we're in a depression now. It just looks different. Stores are closing due to shoplifting. Banks aren't lending. Homeowners are not selling due to the new loan interest rates. People are keeping their cars longer. More people are learning how to cook instead of going to restaurants. So many things are changing... Crime is the scariest part.

Based on what my parents told me, there are many similarities. Except, thankfully the dust bowl where my dad was raised is not a problem today. I don't know if there were as many or as vocal anti-American groups, but that and instant news is a factor impacting us today. I recommend reading "The Worst Hard Time" by Timothy Egan.

They are right we have to start helping others. I’m lucky enough to own acreage. I grow lots of vegetables and fruit to much for just my wife and I to eat. Rather than let it go to waste we pick it and give it away to neighbours, work colleagues and friends. We need to help one another out and not expect to receive money for it.

The difference between then and now is the moral decline of the US. The amount of crime we will see this time around will be unprecedented. Medievalesque. The have nots will eat the haves. Buckle up everybody.

The problem currently compared to way back then is ,there are a lot more armed to the teeth people suffering financial deprivation!

My grandad said the great depression was bad but living with a woman that was real devastation, he always said to me any woman which has 2 eyes will bleed you dry and cause you real depression, I wish had listened 😢
