ОтветитьIf only the seiko have this type of bezel…
ОтветитьThinking of getting my younger brother an entry level watch for Christmas, this is definitely a top option. Probably would be on of this one, the Scurfa, a Moonswatch, or maybe a PRX
ОтветитьBought one in Blue just like in the video. Wanted red but was out of stock. Absolutely beautiful piece of watch. Doesen't quite match up to my granddads old Omega but clearly beats any cheapi-ish quartz watch i've owned.
ОтветитьWas at a Japanese electronics store and they had one on a rubber strap on sale for 10.5 k yen (about $140)!
I asked to see it and the clerk told me "this is on sale"! I said, "I know, it's a great price!" She said, "no, no, it's an additional 30% off."
I think it was a mistake, but after I picked my jaw off the floor, had her ring me then and there - so I got it brand new for what would be less than $90.... 😂
Is there a difference between the 19A and 19B?
ОтветитьI was lucky enough to get this watch at 140€!!! Now I see it has gone way too up in price (about 300€ to 340€ in some cases)! It has great craftsmanship and its quality easily copes with much more expensive watches.
ОтветитьI bought a Kamasu III for the summer and I’m in love with it ❤
Ответитьjust got one today, idk why but i love the brand, and this model was the one i needed/wanted finally got a good deal $185 canadain new in box un worn. now i need the mako 3 in ivory. the hunt never ends
ОтветитьKamasu impressions in 2023??
ОтветитьTeddy, the only man that can make Cleveland look like a hip global city in the 21st century.
ОтветитьCITIZEN PROMASTER - ISO certified diver , plus it's even cheaper!
ОтветитьI pulled the trigger on one and a bambino while in Tokyo last week. With the yen at 144 to 1 U.S. dollar it cost me $310 for the pair. I got the red kamasu with Japanese and English. I find it heavy but I like it. Going to change the bracelet to a rubber strap this weekend.
ОтветитьThe crown on my Kamasu broke, and it was hell trying to get it fixed in the NYC area.
Watchmakers just didn't want to touch it, and apparently Orient doesn't make its parts easily accessible in North America.
It's a beautiful watch, but because of the lack of servicing options, I don't recommend it.
Orient RA-AA0002L19B vs RA-AA0002L19A???
ОтветитьI pulled the trigger on the green dial last month. But I returned it after 3days. the bezel is to slippery and stiff. the crown is too small. The crystal retains smudges, no AR coating and its too hard to tell the time.
ОтветитьGreat!
ОтветитьHow is the Seiko 5 Sports (SRPD51) vs the Orient Kamasu?
ОтветитьFku
Ответитьwhat is the exact reference number of this watch
ОтветитьIsn't it too heavy? 170g ounces
ОтветитьSoldiers and Sailors Monument at Public Square looks familiar...
ОтветитьRed or Blue 🤔
ОтветитьI've got the black-gray Kamasu II two weeks ago and absolutely love it. It's an excellent watch with robustness and originality, specially if you get it under $200. It fits perfectly in small wrists (mine's about 6,25"), so size isn't a concern. Definitely aiming now for the blue Kamasu of the first generation showed in the video.
ОтветитьIt definitely is a lot of watch for the money. I've been wearing a red dial Kamasu for three years now. My only complaint is that because the bezel insert sits slightly higher than the crystal and it's made of aluminium, it picks up a lot of scratches. In fact I've decided to replace the bezel to be able to insert a ceramic one. That being said, I still absolutely love this watch, I feared the red dial would be a bit shouty but it is not, it actually is kind of subdued, more maroon or even blackish in most lighting conditions. It's really beautiful. I don't like metal bands so I got several Nato's, a Hirsch vulcanised natural Rubber, and a black leather strap for it. It looks good on all of them. A watch you can dress for many occasions.
ОтветитьOrient just announced a third generation of Kamasus that feature a dial with arabic numbers. It comes in 4 different colours. My favourite is the one with a charcoal grey dial.
ОтветитьHi dear, i need one same like this watch with Arabic language weekdays
ОтветитьTeddy,
You keep saying for the price how good Orient is. I honestly see no issues with these watches for any price. I have had Lon genes fail, Tag Heurers leak at debts of 70 feet. My Seiko’s and Casios have never failed. So far Orient is utterly reliable also. So what benefit is spending more? I have an open mind to here what is such a big deal outside the brands I mentioned. I do believe you are honest and that is why I ask you.
Kindest Regards,
Arnold Gibbs
Orient is killing it. Absolutely great products for the money. The thing I like best about their dive watches is the hands--the Seiko hands just look like tinkertoys to me. It's a very off-putting look on otherwise beautiful watches. Orient just gets it right. Very happy with my Mako II and it gets a lot of "wrist time."
ОтветитьOrient Kamasu in maroon was my first automatic watch that I bought (had manual winding Helvetia and Darwil, but those are vintage).
I just love how the red turns into black during night time. Never believed that a red dial watch could be so versitile and easy to match with different style clothing.
When new, it ran around +15 secs a day, after frequent wearing, it's around +5 which is awsome. And that sapphire is a lifesaver. Only thing that scratches easly is the braclet and the polished sides of the case.
But I don't care, for 200 euros was a steal.
Hi Teddy, that strap is so beautiful, could you tell me where I can get one similar? :)
ОтветитьPut it on a jubilee bracelet and it really stands out
ОтветитьGot a black Kamasu a few weeks ago. It looks way more expensive than it is and feels great. It's one of my favorite watches in my small collection. I did replace the bracelet with a NATO strap -- the bracelet felt incredibly cheap and did not feel great.
ОтветитьI have the red one with a jubilee bracelet
ОтветитьWhy am I watching a review of a watch that Ive owned for several months already 😭
ОтветитьGreat review! Please consider reviewing the newer gorgeous Kamasu 2!
ОтветитьRuns a little small for those of us with larger wrists, but overall, it's a solid watch for the price.
ОтветитьThx for the video, like the kamasu but would it wear too small on my 7.5 inch wrist? Compared with the seiko 5 sports
ОтветитьTeddy what leather strap did you have on this Kamasu?
ОтветитьOPEN BAck is mising
ОтветитьWhere can I get the bracelet ? Thanks
ОтветитьSocial media has greatly contributed to this whole mess I believe.
ОтветитьCORE: G-Shock->Orient->Tissot->BA111OD.
The men's ORIENT KAMASU is PERFECT for: Diving, First Man's Watch, Gifting (college, graduation, birthday, Christmas, marriage, new job...). More utility? Casio G-Shock(!). Less utility - Tissot, Hamilton. Cheap tourbillon - Aesop/Sugess(!). Swiss Tourbillon/First money - Ba111od. Go-To Core: G-Shock->Orient Kamasu->Tissot->BA111OD Chapter 1 or Tourbillon.
Another great vid! Nailed it! Orient Kamasu is a fantastic, fun, satisfying entry-point (maybe endpoint, too?) into automatic diver watches. SO much bang for the buck! Bracelet clasp is a 'stamped-parts bummer.' But, replacement clasp featuring solid, hefty, milled s.s. parts is on the way for $10.30 ttl! :) (Still searching for one that also includes a wetsuit extension... which I do use.) Speaking of 'do use,' very nice bezel! Oh, Day/Date = Great. Lastly, I will research a sapphire back mod that won't affect usable water proof rating (?). BTW, did someone say diver watch with leather strap? As a lifelong scuba diver, I am not quite there :) Teasing. Ttl paid to date: $187.53 + 10.30 = $197.83. However, if diving in the third world, given appearance alone, leave this one at home. Enjoy, y'all! P.S. Great chef's watch, too!
ОтветитьThe worst thing about the bracelet is the hollow end links. Some people say it's not that bad and still wearable but I found it to be straight garbage. Pick up a strap code miltat bracelet and you are good to go with just about everything a recreational dive watch needs.
ОтветитьFor value its very difficult to beat Orient!
Ответитьhello Teddy
would you rather choose kamasu or defender2?
which one is generally better and much more appealing?
thanks a lot
I am wanting to buy a Kamasu as my first mechanical watch. I’m struggling with color selection. If you could only choose one color which would it be?
ОтветитьOrient is a great watch company
ОтветитьThis could be my next watch! I have a 6.25 in. Wrist, I normally don’t like dive watches but this one looks great!
