Ответитьgreat vid, but i still left with a question unanswered, (i did learn some other stuff though 😆) what does it mean when a roman numeral has a flat or sharp sign next to it, are they diminished, augmented? ples hlep mei.
ОтветитьAny tips on how to practice inversions effectively?
ОтветитьShort, complete, just enough, easy to learn anf funny 😍🤘💫
ОтветитьThis video is amazing, thank you
ОтветитьWhat a fun, easy to learn but thorought masterclass. Thanks Brad for your help, I'm a self-taught guitarist and these videos will help me go through the basics, along with Rick Beato's help! Suscribed and I hope you get many more suscribers for the great job you're doing. Big hug.
Ответитьhey guys I have a question:
I play the Cmaj and then for the next chord I play the third, semitone higher, and the fifth, a tone higher I don't understand what it is but it sounds good. is it an inversion?
good stuff brad! need to check out your other videos.. thanks
Ответитьsorry, we don't serve minors...
ОтветитьHonestly you taught me more than my professor. Thank you 😢❤❤
Ответитьyou lost me at double flat
ОтветитьThanks !
ОтветитьI can’t believe you were able to pack all that in under 10 minutes. I’ve watched hundreds of music theory videos and this is top 3 for sure. I plan on watching it over and over until this is second nature. Thank you!
ОтветитьGreat video, keep on ....
ОтветитьSlower for adults ❤🎉😂 y TY fr the Philippines 🇵🇭
ОтветитьThis is awesome 👍
ОтветитьThere are only two sexes and two genders
ОтветитьAmazingly explained
ОтветитьNon-binary? Stfu
ОтветитьIf you want to know how to learn music quickly (eg by ear) I would strongly suggest avoiding all these types of videos that rely on theory (only a tiny amount of theory is needed). One will just waste lots of time and confusion and never get to master their instrument. The way to learn to play quickly is to listen carefully to songs and play your instrument to them using the simple knowledge described below.
Not saying music theory is wrong or incorrect. It is not. But it should not be used to master an instrument. Only the following is needed for mastering any musical instrument (Does not matter what it is). First the concept of a key/scale and the simple pattern produced by 7 notes (diatonic notes) of the scale. Plus the recognition by ear of these 7 notes and of the associated 7 chords (triads). Once these 7 sounds are embedded in your mind (relative pitch) you will be able to play the instrument fairly well and pick up most popular (pop, folk, hymns etc) tunes by ear very fast, then the rest (the loose ends, classical music by ear etc.) will follow on very easily. Remember the 7 sounds (although different notes) are the same relative sound in each scale. So what key you use for this learning process does not matter at all. For example if you play an Irish whistle (about £10 each) then you can stick to a single key and not get anxious at all about other keys.
Once you can play by ear then moving to another key (or instrument, violin, piano etc.) is simplicity itself, as the relative sounds of the 7 notes and chords are the same in all 12 keys. Learning chords by ear can be done using a cheap keyboard and recording yourself playing the 7 chords of the scale, and listening to them over and over until they can be recognized as easy as recognizing colors (again relative pitch). But with an Irish whistle you can at least play the 3 notes that make the chords (arpeggiating the chords). Occasionally there will be notes in a few songs that are outside the key/scale but it won't happen often and once you learn the diatonic notes by ear these very few outside notes will become obvious to you anyway. So no need to fuss over them when learning by ear. The above is all that is needed to play and master any musical instrument. As the extra sounds of 7th, 9th,13th Augmented, Diminished chords etc, etc will become obvious to you over a short time after you have internalized the core 7 sounds.

ОтветитьThis is a very good video, But I've got just one nitpick. The harmonic minor scale is used to create a leading tone in the V and vii° chords and their extensions. This video lays out triads out for every scale degree of the harmonic scale which includes an augmented triad on scale degree 3. ( III+ or Eb, G, B ). Not to say that this chord is forbidden, but it's incredibly niche and it doesn't really match the purpose that harmonic minor is used for. When that chord does appear in a minor key, it's likely to actually functionally be an inversion of V+ ( G, B, D# )
ОтветитьCan you repeat the part where you said all the stuff about the things?
ОтветитьThis helped a lot. I learned piano during lockdown, took a break, and I got confused on inversions. I eventually could figure out what notes to press for those chords, but not what they are called.
ОтветитьAre triads the same as chords ? Or what differs
Ответитьgreat video. you explain hard concepts in a very easy way to understand
ОтветитьI just found your channel, and wanted to write a thank you!
ОтветитьThis channel is literally everything I have been looking for! You are an angel! Ily so much (but like, in a unparasocial way)
ОтветитьI came back to watch this video since I find your videos are informative and humourless.
Sorry, less is ous.
But I had to make one comment on the soundtrack. You need more cowbell.
How can someone send do intelligent not be able to teach. Root 3rd, 5th was not explained. Are we purposely trying to make this confusing? These are smart people??? Why can’t they explain them?
ОтветитьBest triad explanation so far! Thank you
ОтветитьThank you for this teaching, very helpful. 😊✍👍
Ответить>shoves gender BS in within 15 seconds of the video.
I'm out of here. Keep your degenerate politics and pseudoscience out of your content.
I came here looking for gangsters..
And I found music!
Hi could you please talk slowly, it's very fast 🙂 I have to listen so many times 😔
ОтветитьI appreciate you, sir. Been watching several of your uploads. Excellent material and production, thereof. Thank you.
ОтветитьI get to answer all questions in my Grade 5 Music theory exam just by watching all of your videos....on a last minute study(a week study or so). Thanks for the quick and clear explanation.
