ОтветитьI don't think the idea of arranging individual vertical turbines is practical. Because by the time each of the turbines is started up by the wind from the vehicles, the vehicle is long gone. The same applies to the subsequent turbines. I therefore do not consider the movements shown in the video to be real. The turbines spin there even when no vehicle is passing - and they do not spin faster when one is passing.
In order to be effective, the turbines must be arranged in series in such a way that each subsequent rotor also drives the one in front, and this over a long distance. Additional wind deflectors are to be installed so that counter-rotating winds do not slow down the running rotors. Such a development currently (January 2023) exists in Germany.
Actually this is the best type of wind turbines just to know people.

ОтветитьAlthough I do agree with this idea but, there is one simple problem; in the design of the panels or wings themselves. It could have been much thicker in the broader areas while thinner in the lateral zones although I am no professional person in the wind dynamics please try to provide a detailed answer for that particular design of the wings. I may be am wrong or may be right, please guide. Thanks.

What a stupid idea! These turbines will increase the effective viscosity of the airflow in the street for passing cars. So, they slow down cars and turn their fuel into electricity. This is total nonsense.
ОтветитьInteresting idea - But is there a back-effect on the vehicle aero-dynamics? If all passing vehicles increase their fuel consumption by lost aerodynamics there is no win. Any test on that aspect done or planned?

ОтветитьI literally came up with this exact concept to detail back in late 90's and have actual drawings and witnesses, I didn't have the funds to pursue it and here it is before my eyes In actual reality. I'm completely blown away.

ОтветитьI agree with putting turbines along a motor way. But not to get energy from cars. Since the road is already reinforced with concrete and sand you save money on the turbine foundation. If you raise them up by 3 meters you will get much energy from the wind. If you line the sides of the motor-way with turbines you get a barrier which takes energy out of the noise created by the motor way so local communities are less impacted by the motor way. If the entire motor way had turbines the small energy each one produced would add up to an enormous amount and could power homes and EV charging points up and down the country. The motor way is already an eyesore so why not give it an extra practical function.
