As a new fan who never watched Avgn until recently this videos tone is so mean spirited toward James. Everything I’ve seen from him he just seems genuine and nice. You showed good topics that yeah James should be criticized for and has been but the jabs and dunks are so unnecessary comes off way more biased and attacking.

I've been a huge Cinemassacre fan since I was 9, and I still love James. It was pretty interesting learning more about the Screenwave era though, as I usually tend to avoid drama related content on creators that I genuinely enjoy. Having AI James narrate the video was a nice touch, made some of the less savory entries a little easier to swallow.

As informative as it is, Its also very sad to see so many parasites feeding of controversies and fake criticism for a few bucks or time in the spotlight. I simultaneously appreciate the effort on explaining this, as much as I find it pathetic and dishonorable. I guess not all content has the same moral value as this extreme examples illustrate. In a sense its nice that some people are willing to go this low for our benefit,so we don´t have to carry those burdens over our shoulders some years down the line.

I hate that Cinemassacre tried to be like Channel Awesome (which was never good) I liked Doug Walker when he was just “That Guy With The Glasses”. Once he got hit with those copyright notices it was downhill. He could have kept his format the same but chose to completely change and it’s just cringe. It is my belief that Weeb culture ruins everything it touches.

I don't like all of the gleeful hatred that these r/TCT dipshits like to spew. James created something that brought joy to millions and inspired an entire genre. Did things keep on rocking forever? Maybe not. Are screenwave unlikeable? Yes. Are we sad about the rift between the ogs? Undoubtedly. Was the movie terrible? Yeah. But that doesn't mean we've got to drown ourselves in hatorade. I for one remain a fan for life.
