I really like this femboy trope. I am transgender and was frequently mistaken for a girl when I was young. That gave me enough confidence for this transition. I never really had a male character with which I can identify in media beside of some nerds but I hated nerds when I was young. However I decided to detransition 4 years ago simply because I got an autism diagnosis and that condition explains a lot of my problems and transition makes things just more problematic than it is helping. I am 33 years old btw but still can pass as a girl if I want to without any problems. I am thinking of cosplaying one of those characters lol

Instead of asking why we are attracted to boys who look like girls, how about accepting that we are attracted to people who look like girls. We like girls that look like girls, we like dolls that look like girls, we like artwork made of pixels and ink that look like girls, we like trans people that look like girls. Simply put, we like anyone/anything that looks like girls. That's why I say it's not gay if the idea of somebody being a girl or feminine is part of the illusion you fell for. It's gay if it's the traits of masculinity that turns you on, not femininity. This is why sexuality has a spectrum. If a guy only likes women who happen to be tomboyish exclusively, is he really as straight as a guy who likes girls who are super feminine? We can still call him straight, but there's nuance there.

I first got into anime in late 2020 and my first show was Kanojo ga flag.
