These are antiquated systems. They aren't going to have enough time to take out a modern high speed missile, which isn't a huge red balloon floating just a few km's away. Sea skimming anti-ship missiles can remain totally hidden until they are a mere 15km away, and they suddenly go into a terminal phase at this point where they rapidly accelerate to close the time window. Meaning they go from their cruise speed to a speed rapidly of around 1200km/s. Meaning the defending ship would only have a mere 12.5 seconds until impact, these old Russian CIWS systems can't perform a detection and interception within that time frame.
Now the US Phalanx is better obviously, a more modernised CIWS. However if someone put a guy to my head asked if I was confident that a US ship purely using its Phalanx as a defence against a Taiwanese Hsiung Feng III strike, I honestly wouldn't be confident that even the Phalanx would reliably defend the ship from that.

It's good to see that the Russians have incorporated Dalek technology and firepower in their warship.

In the era of drones there could be a swam which could overwhelm systems like this designed to defend against missiles

They take up allot of space and they are slow moving. I can see why now those drones easily took out Russia's flag ship.

I can understand why AK-630 exists, no accuracy pure wall of lead. Spray and pray but on FUCKING STEROIDS. Why does AK306 exists is pure mistery to me. No rate of fire, no accuracy and no range... What's the point?

I just watched a short video of the Russian Priazovye ship using one of those to destroy a Ukrainian drone boat at a few hundred metres distance. It fired just a couple of killing shots at a time. Impressive.
