I’m so impressed! That’s our Cooper and it’s awesome to see him doing so well. As owners we have new tools to help keep control. And yes, that puppy pulled me to the ground in an attempt to get to another dog. That was before…not now!! And it’s only Day1! Thank u

This is excellent! Especially with a more mature(ish) dog, and no prong or e collars (I refuse to use those).

We didn't address proper walking etiquette with our dog when we got him, so now we're trying to correct and this looks extremely practicable.

I can't look at this dog's fear every time he turns towards this man. it is cruel to the dog to use aversive methods, especially when you know that the dog has been treated with these methods before and shows a lot of submissive signals.

Glad to see this works but definitely not with tougher dogs. Same concept but different tools may be needed. Cool to see that a flat collar works for this dog. Sometimes you don’t even need to graduate to something more. I would’ve thought at least a martingale.

Sorry if someone already pointed this out, but initially he appears to cower at the slightest flinch or physical turn or gesture, as if someone lost their temper with him sometime in the past. Interesting that it didn't seem to affect this method of leash training with a normal.collar. Great tips and results, thanks!

That’s ridiculous! What a great dog! He’s not pulling you when he sees another dog he’s not pulling you to sniff something on the side of the road he is not distracted by anything during your walk. I try corrections on our dog however he just pulls harder and it’s not always effective. I stop and go frequently on our walks too. He’s 4 years old, 65lbs mixed rescue intact. Great dog needing work
On greeting manners, jumping and pulling. Yikes! I wish you had an extreme puller that made you use more tricks in your book. Looked easy.

This is horrible. The dog is flinching over the abuse . Do not call it a correction. Would you like someone putting pressure like that on your neck??? This poor dog . Please people do better. Read the ‘do no harm dog training ‘ book. How are you endorsing physical, mental and emotional harm on your own dog?

I have a 9 month old miniature labradoodle,I've tried to get him to walk to heel and he's awful. Pulling, reacting to other dogs, barking, screeching.
I take him to training class and he walks very well on a loose lead.
I so want him to walk well outside, but after trying intensely for the last 5 weeks, there's little change.
Can you please help, beyond this video video?😢

So I've got to be honest, saw this and thought it was just another gimmicky video. Happy to admit I was massively wrong. Used the techniques on my 4 month old GSD, really worked well. Decided to give it a go with my 8 year old GSD/Rottie Cross, who is normally walked on a head collar, and she was almost perfect. We've always managed to her to walk well in training but never just on normal road walks. Well apparently after 8 years of trying.....she can walk like a normal dog 😂😂 so grateful for this video. The way that correction is done is so much easier. Actual life changer. I'm rambling now and I don't even care. THANK YOU 🎉

I've had dogs all my life and I'm telling you right now....I'd be a terrible person to train Cooper. He's just too cute! Great video by the way!! Speaking of always having dogs, (aside from my parents breeding labs when I was growing up; aren't labs the best??), I've had mainly adult dogs as rescues and one VERY well trained and VERY intelligent hunting dog a person abandoned in the woods. (My GAWD was she smart! Hands down in my 48 years I have NEVER met a dog smarter! She was rottie/coonhound mix and just wow. Just wow!) I still can't believe someone left her out in the woods to die after training her so well! But that's where I'm from in Ohio unfortunately. Hunting dogs get old and they're expensive to feed. (sad). But I brought her home (she wasn't chipped and no one was out looking for her) and she lived with me for another (6-7) years!
Okay....sorry for the rambling! But after my last rescue passed away, I rescued a puppy (from "Hope for Life" here in Virginia Beach, I can't say enough good things about them!) and he just turned a year old. I think I've done well so far, and PERSISTANCE IS KEY!! But even though I'm "an old dog" lol, I AM still learning every day how to communicate with my pup and make it a pleasant experience for him, me and people we interact with. Thank you for all your hard work!

First, I don't like the title of this video. Are you implying that prong collars and e-collars have no use as training tools??
That dog in your video is calm. Not puppy like. I am a petsitter. FIRST TIME, I ever seen a prong collar, was when a client dropped off a puppy Goldendoodle. Big,full of energy, puppy Goldendoodle! These people loved their dog,Charlie! They could not have handled Charlie at their ages easily. The prong collar was a simple and worthwhile solution. I have also had major spinal surgery. I am 60. I just cannot be pulled all over God's creation anymore. With prong collar, dogs learn quickly not to pull. Never have seen a dog yet, that has had adverse reaction to prong collar. After 5 minute, they (and I) much prefer a nice walk in the woods

I have watched videos after videos on how to stop my 2-year old Golden Retriever to stop pulling and lunging. I am 68 years old with spinal stenosis and arthritis on both knees so it's very hard to walk a pulling dog. When I saw your video, I was very skeptical and even said, "No way this is going to work". But when you said you will have your dog for 12 years and you can't have the patience to do 15 stops, that convinced me to give it a try. I was so very pleasantly surprised. It did work! Even before 15 stops, he wasn't pulling anymore. We even went for a longer walk because my back and knees were not hurting. I can't thank you enough for teaching me how to train my dog. Now if you would kindly send me a link to a video that will teach my dog not to jump up on people, I would greatly appreciate it.

At the beginning of the video the dog put your hand or arm in his mouth and you said you would address that, but I didn't see the solution. My dog does that and it drives me crazy. She is an 8 month old golden retriever. Also when I do a slight tug on the leash to correct her she lies down. How do I stop these behaviors?

I've been doing this for a couple of months, my dog has a short attention span, if I don't actively tell him to walk with me and talk to him all the time, he will gradually move to leading and after a while will even end up pulling me in a matter of minutes.

I just saw this video and am taking my six-month old Golden Retriever Molly for a walk. I'll let you know if it works . Fingers crossed. ---- I just got back from the walk - Changing the leash from the back of the harness to the front made all the difference. Although I have to admit she is an excellent dog and listens very well. The gentle tug from the front made her take notice and she responded after a few tugs. Thank you so much for your willingness to share your expertise.
