Something I feel you're overllooking with corn is that it gives you access to the Tortilla, which is a comically simple food you can grow and stack up for half the year. Corn is the reason I never needed to think about energy or food sources again. Also makes a great gift.

Watching this without a single star fruit or ancient wine in year 3 going into 4 this made me realize I am doing something really wrong. At least wine/paleale farm is super profitable

I started stardew with no clue how to do anything in the game. From spring I thought "trellis produce more than once. Trellis crop best." And then, fall 25th year 2 I was like "Well, I got the greenhouse recently, I should use it. But these trellis crops will take so much space for pathways. I'mma buy... Hmmm... Oh these cranberries produce multiple? And can be harvested multiple times?? Woah, I'll get those :)" and I made the most money I'd ever seen. That is why fall and cranberries hold a special place in my heart. They springboarded me into my new farm, where as year two dawns, I have 6 sheds that are being upgraded to big sheds, and I will fill them ALL with kegs. 411 kegs. And I will then slowly build up an army of ancient fruit with the seed maker, and then I will have an EMPIRE. I WILL BE GOD HIMSELF

cactus give lots of energy and like mid game when i don’t have much food for skull cavern i like to pick them up in desert and they’re pretty goos

My only complaint about blueberries is that I don't have enough preserves jars to support their growth. 5 stacks of blueberries are sitting in one of my chests.

I actually grow wheat super often and on a pretty large scale just for making beer out of. Only takes like a day to turn into beer, and grows so fast, so by the time you've kegged your last harvest, and entire new harvest is ready. That and it's fun to scythe a whole yellow field of them. And no, I don't generally give the beer to my husband Shane, I'm keeping that boy happy with a potted pepper every day or the pizza he gives you.

Hear me out: Use Junimos to harvest them, save your coffee beans, and when your keg shed is done processing, spend a day processing coffee, profit

Bok Choy is B tier definitely

Blue Jaz are actually great for 1 reason... Lucky Lunch, they are a key component in it... sooo at least C tier in my opinion, spend one season growing a ton of them, save them in a chest, make a ton of lucky lunches, never grow them again unless you run out.

"coffee beans are so rare and it's so expensive to grow" I am now convinced this dude haven't played for more than a year or maybe two on a farm. And not like speedrunning, actual playing.

I disagree on artichoke, it seemed pretty profitable to me and you can get it in year one via planting mixed seeds

Cactus deserve better than F tier when you recognize their benefit as a greenhouse crop. You harvest every 3 days (?), it regrows, and it makes you a quick buck when you need it. I'd at least put them in the C tier.
Strawberries are at minimum an A-tier crop.

Wheat has another bonus: It produces hay for animals if you have a silo. I use massive wheat fields to get cheaper hay and then mill it and use the flour for recipes or just to sell.

I try to do 'self sufficient' play throughs where I don't buy raw ore, coal, wood and stuff like bombs and oil of garlic. A skull cavern run takes a lot of prep work. I do use the desert trader for staircases because mining stone can be terrible when I also want stone for preserve jars and other buildings.

Garlic and sunflower are things I regularly grow just to make the oil of garlic. Multiple recipes need many of these crops. For example, bean hotpot is a loved gift for demetrius and liked by many NPCs so I grow beans and gift the bean hotpot. I have an idea for doing a 'cloud kitchen farm' playthrough where I am the proprietor of a farm to table cloud kitchen (obviously just headcanon). Coffee for triple shot espresso is something I grow and have dedicated kegs for. What for bread, as a bridge crop and as hay for animals. Agree fully on hops for pale ale. Poppy is my summer honey flower and so is blue jazz in spring. Sunflower honey is made until the fairy rose is ready in fall. Summer spangle, I grow to gift caroline in Year 1 as I do rely on tea saplings for early money. Also make green tea to gift caroline to full hearts as I try to get full hearts with all NPCs.

Also fiber seeds. Hoe ground, set out new sprinklers and plant fiber seeds on the Winter 22 of a Year, they will be done on Spring 1. Harvest with a scythe and ground stays tilled and watered. Add quality fertilizer (crafted with fish from crab pots and sap) then plant strawberries on day 1 spring for 5 harvests in the season. I make seeds from the previous years harvest for strawberries specifically.

Bok choy looks like fennel. Many times I got some bok choys in my chest and I am like "...mmm fennel, nice 👌🏽" but it's not. It's freakin BOK CHOY! But bok choy is nice, BUT it's not fennel!

bok choy is actually amazing for exp. its 4 days to grow, and gives almost 2x the exp of parsnips.
you can really rush your farming exp incredibly fast with them.

Coffee Bean is A tier atleast imo. It Regrows every two days so (assuming you have kegs) its probably one of the best daily profit(very time consuming tho even with Junimo huts) besides coffee is too addicting that once you drink it a few times you just cant play without it

Blue Jazz, and tulips as well, are just good starter gifts when you don't know everyone's "loved" gifts off the top of your head or they aren't available to you yet. Yes, I know not all townies like them, but flowers in general (except the poppy) are just a really good "liked" gift to give when you have nothing else. Only people you shouldn't give them to is Clint, George, and Sebastian.

I'm dissapointed in garlic. It's really bad in the game, but I still plant them way too much because I love garlic IRL.

I definitely disagree with the cactus fruit. It gives you such good stats if you eat it. It was my mine food for a long time.

An underrated strategy I like to use is to get a huge blueberry crop in the start of summer to use with seed makers to get a bunch of ancient seeds. Since you get a bunch of blueberries per harvest and each blueberry costs less than its seed, you both make money on the crop through processing it AND get a huge head start in making a giant ancient fruit farm happen at the start of year two.
