In school we were reading the book so we gonna watch it soon even tho I already watched it

I love the book

Actually , it was the best film . , I had ever seen in my life .julia Roberts and her team proved that one film can make a mark in audiance's soul .

I was born with cleft lip and palate. The surgeons did a great job. One if the success stories. I remember being a kid a thinking "this is success?" But then I saw was unsuccessful was and was grateful.

I think one of the hardest things I had to hear was that my dad had disowned me at birth because he says that "no kid of mine looks like that". The guy is a real dick to everyone though. My parents ended up separating around when I wss 20(unrelated to this). He now lives by himself traveling with his work crew and essentially nothing to call his own. Even his mother doesn't like him.

And yes not only kids are cruel adults are cruel too. With this birth defect it brings on many challenges such as hearing loss, speech issues, teeth problems(grow abnormally), sometimes jaw alignment issues which can also cause speech issues, slight eating issues(not too bad),and visual appearance. I remember reading this and thinking I had it but I didn't realize he has Treachers Collins Syndrome. I told the teacher "I have this!" And she said "no, no you don't." I was confused but I was also like 10.

However anyone that sees this comment just know it can and does get better even if your appearance isn't "normal". I've learned in my 24 years of living that most people don't care that you look slightly different(or at least in my experience). Much love to all of you!❤❤❤

I hate that they made him like hollywoods version of disfigured, in the book his face is described as far worse, I feel like making him more cute kind of betrays the books purpose

I have this kid in my class named Lucas. He has a tumor in his mouth. But luckily, All of us kids don’t really care what he looks like, he’s pretty nice.

I always felt so ashamed of myself because of my autism, I grew up as a loner, even though I always looked normal, I’ve never been able to act normal, which is just a real problem to me, so I know what it’s like to feel so different from everybody else

I loved this movie because hopefully it helps people to know about and Treacher Collins syndrome. This little boy is amazing in the part, and all the heartache he had to go thru before one precious little girl decided she wanted him for her friend! What kids are not taught in their homes is,their are many children out there with so many different medical conditions, but that doesn’t make them bad or scary, children have to be taught at home by PARENTS, about this and explain, on the inside they are like everyone else. Teach them to except and never BULLY, ANY child that is different from them in any way!
This may be unrealistic because some people are racist against so much, they tend to teach bullying to their children, just to show they are better, but in fact they are the ones that create all the hate in this world.
Please, just show your children it’s ok to be different so they cannot continue on the cycle. That little boy is adorable and lovable.

I see this film came out in 2017? I just can't stop watching the TRAILER! I almost have NO WORDS it's so MOVING. I mean, "You can't Blend in when you were BORN to STAND OUT". ???? Just THAT UNBELIEVABLE, "FROM GOD ABOVE" I BELIEVE, QUOTE ALONE "IS" The WHOLE MOVIE, to me...Yet I KNOW there's so much MORE. When I was in the 5th Grade, MYSELF, The ABSOLUTELY HORRIFIC BULLYING in St. Anne's Private Catholic School, STARTED with a TERRIBLE VENGEANCE! All because I "Acted" like a girl. I wàs BORN homosexual and let me tell ya, your "MANNERISMS?" Are simply "YOU.". TRUST me. I never saw THAT COMING because, well, aside from my FATHER SHAMING ME NIGHTLY as I was so so so AFRAID to sleep ALONE in the DARK. Then a STEP FATHER DRUNK scary abuser who would REALLY TEASE me scare me til I turned WHITE as a sheet! At any rate, I could say so much more and go on and on and this comment already is too long... My Point is just how EVIL EVIL EVIL KIDS ARE. And I am 54 and STILL can't seem to get away from it.... BUT the KIDS? THEY are the WORST little devils of all, if you ask me. They GATHER TOGETHER in LARGE GROUPS AGAINST anyone different in ANY WAY! Then it STARTS! And ABSOLUTELY YES, like this poor, but OH SO SO BEAUTIFUL BEAUTIFUL boy, Augie (sp?). But in the movie its:
“If I were that ugly, I would put a hood over my head!”
