I declutterred and trying minimalistic life. Less inventory to handle. I only kept the clothes that can fit on 30 hangers. Same for my kiddo. Only dishes that I would use and rest are gone. I donated almost over 15 boxes of things and 20 bags of clothes, some with tags. Honestly it felt therapeutic. I was a trauma hoarder and it took me 7 years to get to this point. It took me 4 weeks to go through the whole process. I took it slow. Little bit at a time. Remember that once those items are gone, they're gone. So give yourself time to go through emotional items. If you kept something, wait for a week and visit back. Check again if you still don't feel like throwing it. Think about space for that object. Think how much joy it will bring to other person.

Holy shit honey and I thought I had a mental illness with collecting too much stuff was bad. Girl WHATEVER does'nt fit you or give you joy PLEASE I BEG YOU donate it to any homeless shelter for women or any charity's that collects clothes for those less fortunate

I have so many clothes that I don’t even want to sit and touch each piece. I would never get done and and give up. I just want someone else to come in and get it out! If I don’t see it I won’t miss it. I know what I wear but have started and would find something from 2 years ago with tags and say oh there it is and keep it.

I don't think I ever had that much clothing. We only wear a small percentage of what we own. I take great joy in donating to several local charities. I only shop at thrift stores but not often anymore. I actually love decluttering. You are on your way, and find a replacement for shopping.😊

This is the last one I have done, the others were so so, I was not fussy about The Swedish death cleaning I will say, but this one is the last one and out of them all this is giving me anxiety everything in an upheaval, not keen at all, but this one I had to do last,
The slower pace was better for me, with the prize reward of something big going, but its a way, and every way helps.

Looking at everything you have you need to start smaller, little steps. Do the shoes in the basement first. Then the closet in the basement, then do your dressers next, take an armful out of the closet at a time. It will take at least a week to go through it. Baby steps. You can do it!

wow, good job.. and i thought i had a lot of clothes to get rid of!.. btw..dont buy so many clothes! try to buy clothes that wont go out of style and are higher quality so you can wear them for longer, that way you dont need to keep buying whats "in" all the time, your bank account and especially the climate will thank you

I feel so sad that you were so upset. I finished MK in about 2 month and kept finding unneeded items and extra categories for another 10 month. And the process made me so happy I wish I could restart.

You could have made it easier on yourself by just Donating all that stuff from the Basement that you didn't even know what was in the Containers! If you didn't know what was in there then you wouldn't miss any of it! Let's face it, as you get older (from teen to young woman) your size changes as well as your Taste & Needs, so just Dump it & keep the things you know you have been using!! It's just that simple! Once you've accomplished it all, then you'll be able to downsize even more & also learn to have QUALITY over QUANTITY!! Good Luck to You! Life is a Journey....ENJOY the Trip! 😊
