How to remove cmos battery in your pc? Cmos reset / hard reset on bios

I don't know what happened with my laptop but the cmos socket really hard to open to take the battery out. When i done, the socket that function to lock the battery just broke😢😢

After 2 years of my using my new gaming PC. Mother board Asus Darkhero VIII . I got error message when booting: Please enter setup to recover BIOS settings. Press F1 to run Setup. I have replaced the CMOS battery with new one still get this problem. If I leave my computer unplugged for 4 weeks I loose the system date and time after changing the batttery is this normal? How can I fix this issue?

Im having an issue. I own the b650 tomahawk and I was playing some games. Then, I turned off my pc, left, and when I turned it back on, the boot debug light came on and I was unable to boot into my operating system. So I turned it off again, mashed the delete key to try to get into bios but once the pc was on, it was stuck in “entering bios…” for like 5 minutes. What do I do? Help

Where are the terminals to short out and clear c-mos

So ever since I built my pc I’ve only had one small issue and that is every time I turn it on it shows the black screen with lettering saying press F1 and only F1 and it send me to the bios everytime, and manually exit bios to boot into windows. I have windows as primary boot #1 but it still does nothing. Do I need to reset and redownload windows without any HDD connected to it? Help please

Few days ago I decided to clean my PC, so I used a blower (I turned off the power and I also didn't touch any equipment, I didn't unplug any wire from GPU, CPU, mainboard etc...) after I finished with the cleaning I came to turn my PC on but it went off right after I turned it on... so I decided to test few things, like I detached the RAMs and changed their places and I also switched the power outlet (instead of using multi outlet I connected PC straight to the outlet) so the thing happened was that PC stayed on for a longer time (few more seconds) but it still went off and turned on again by itself... it's more like a restart loop... rn I connected the monitor but I don't have a screen at all not even mainboard logo and literally black screen...

In my case in new asus rog gaming motherboards is attached red and black cables with metals, so i will need to damage the metals attached to battery to change battery.

What should I do if it doesn't reset?

Im having a issue where i try to boot my pc using the main boot drive which is for windows and everytime i save and exit it just shows no signal then goes right back to bios, help :(

Heyy mate, I'm getting the American Megatrends screen every boot (after a long period of power off) I think is the cmos battery because I don't see any error message in that screen just "press f1 to recover bios settings", u think it is? or maybe another problem, my pc runs fine, just that screen is the bad thing haha

The other night while I was playing, electricity suddenly went out for a split second (turns out the electric company was doing some maintenance). Took me a few tries before my monitor can display anything again but last night when I tried to restart my pc, my screen was all black again and nothing I do fixed it. Turns out removing the cmos battery was my saving grace! Thank you so much!

I have a tiny clip on mine but when I push it nothing happens I have tried several times and it won’t come out. I have the same battery as the first one not covered in plastic. Looks as if some plastic clips are holding it in place

after updating the drivers for my rx 580 , it suddenly switched off and shown " no signal" will this method work?

My battery doesn’t seem to have anything under it to push it up for whatever reason, makes removing it pretty damn hard

Hey mac, I’ve had my gaming pc for a little more that 4 years now with negligible issues. Randomly one day it would not boot up. When I try to boot it up the the fans move for a split second and stop. The cpu fan doesn’t spin even for a split second. I’ve tried to remove the ram sticks and place them in different spots which was to no avail. Also tried to remove the cmos battery for 5 mins while the power button was off and put it back in which didn’t help either. Any suggestions on how I could fix this would be of great help
