POST-PROGRESSIVISM - Steve McIntosh and Layman Pascal in Conversation

In POST-PROGRESSIVISM, Layman Pascal and Steve McIntosh continue their earlier Integral Authors Series discussion of Steve's new book, Developmental Politics. After the publication of his book, seeking ways to summarize his overall project, Steve began to use the word 'post-progressive' -- to signal a move away from the contemporary Left, that does not involve a Dave Rubin-like return to the Right. In this episode, Steve and Layman discuss the similarities differences between post-progressivism and Layman's preferred 'meta-progressivism' (which is aligned with metamodernist politics). And together they consider what it will take for us to develop greater cultural intelligence or 'worldview literacy.'

Steve McIntosh, J.D. is a leader in the integral philosophy movement and author of Developmental Politics—How America Can Grow Into a Better Version of Itself (Paragon House, 2020). He is president and co-founder of the Institute for Cultural Evolution think tank, which focuses on the cultural roots of America’s political problems. Steve is also coauthor, with John Mackey and Carter Phipps, of the recently published book: Conscious Leadership—Elevating Humanity Through Business. He has authored three previous books on integral philosophy: The Presence of the Infinite (Quest, 2015), Evolution’s Purpose (Select Books, 2012), and Integral Consciousness and the Future of Evolution (Paragon House, 2007).
