Legalise grounded knees!

Ridiculous how Aljo is allowed to stall out the fight by grabbing Yan's wrists and curling into a fetal position.

Bro Aljo always does this. You can also see it in the Cejudo fight. He starts to turtle up, its not like he is actually on the floor grounded. Im glad Yan fucking kneed him in the face

This is why those rules are bullshit. Sterling is literally doing nothing but sitting on his knees trying to catch his breath and get more energy. In a real fight he would have been knocked out long ago

The knee was terrible. Yan was beating Aljo easily. Aljo said in a post fight interview that his first thought after being illegally kneed was he didn’t know if he’d ever get another title shot so he stayed down. John McCarthy was right. Aljo made a business decision in that moment. If you can think that clearly after an illegal blow you can continue to fight. I think it was the biggest bitch move in the history of the UFC but Yan caused the whole situation. Aljo has definitely redeemed himself though. He’s been unbeatable since..

if u kneel down on the floor so someone won’t hit u then u deserve to be kneed. i’m happy it showed that he fights like a faggot, but damn under the ufc rule set he’s dam good! can’t deny it. if u take a knee so u won’t get struck u deserve to get soccer kicked to the face. there are already so many rules protecting grapplers. and i LIKE grappling.

People talking about aljamain should have been able to continue fighting after a knee like that, have not been kneed in the hit themselves. That shit hurt. I remember one time in training it happened to me while my sparring partner and I were grappling. I needed a break for like 10 minutes, and it wasn't as hard as this one.

Why is this illegal tho?? Let's say aljo's knee was an inch above the ground. So him no longer being a "downed opponent" would it make the knee completely safe and 0 damage compared to him being downed?? Why does it make a difference?

Ответить
@EganCraft
@EganCraft - 24.04.2023 21:05

This shouldn’t be llegal. In a sport where elbows and flying knees are legal how is this crossing the line. This is clearly a rule from Jujitsu practitioners who were afraid of being knee’d in the face for a bad takedown. Petr Yan was about to murder this clown either way

@stevenellerbee686

Wait, what's the rule on throwing knees to a downed opponent? For years, I thought you couldn't knee someone to the head if they have 3 points on contact with the ground. As in, both knees and a hand. I thought that once both hands are off the ground, knees to the head are legal. The point being that the defender has both arms to defend the knee, irregardless if you're standing or on your knees. Are you saying that the rule is if the other person is on their knees, you can't knee to the head? That's kinda BS. You should be able to knee someone in the head if they are able to defend it. The rule gives wrestlers an advantage of extra protection when knees are suppose to be wrestlers biggest deterrent to shoot for a takedown...
