Interview with James McLachlan, editor of Element Journal

In this episode, we chat with James McLachlan, editor of Element: The Journal for the Society of Mormon Philosophy and Theology (SMPT). We discuss James's background, give a basic primer on a few schools of thought within philosophy and how they relate to Mormonism, discuss the origins of SMPT, the current issue of Element, the upcoming 2019 SMPT Annual Meeting, and ask the question: why do members of the Church seem to have ambivalent feelings towards philosophy and theology?
