I’m confused. If the stock dropped to $30 don’t you already own the 100 shares? Why would you buy more on the open market, and how would you sell those additional stock to the buyer?

If I'm not required to literally purchase the stock then why would I not be able to trade this type of option? I can currently do covered calls and CS puts. The only risk would be the cost of the premium, right?

If I am the buyer and you are the seller . Why are you paying me and selling you? I got confused there

Cash secured put option has been profitable for me if the stocks are on the upside but i tried to open the contract when the stock is down, that way the premium will be higher if the strike price is close to the stock price.
