A lot of the alt-history writers who talk about Germany winning WW2 fail to consider the fact that the Nazis were extremely incompetent. It's pretty much sheer luck (and awful inaction from other nations until war was finally declared) that they did as much damage as they did.

More people died making the V2 rocket than the rocket killed. They went to Russia IN WINTER and didn't plan for snow. They were fooled by the Allies dropping a corpse near a beach with fake papers (Operation Mincemeat). And many times the Allies fooled them with inflatable/papier mache tanks. Hell, in Germany the name the Nazis gave to their stupidly large (and very unusable) weapons 'Wunderwaffe' is used as a joke.

I have a feeling a lot of the WW2 alt-history books are written by Americans because most Europeans who have been taught about WW1/WW2 and been exposed to as many museums on the events as we are know that it'd have taken continuous and horrific fuck ups by the Allies for the Axis to even have a single chance to win.
