I do not consider myself a photographer but I have sound graphics designing background. Just yesterday on a Group, a discussion ignite. A photo was beautifully taken, lighting was good, but still it wasn't looking "right", rule of third was applied, naturally. And there I said the same thing, that everything is good, it is just not balanced.

Now I can refer those people to this video, that balance is something important too. :)
