What would you keep in your Terra’s lockr?
Ответитьدراجة تملك تصميم رائع
ОтветитьI bought obea terra H30 2x after watching this video. Bike in general not bad, rode it for 6 month (~ 2k km) now. But... orbea site and shop is complete crap, spent > 150 eur trying to find fenders for winter, including "official" ones, nothing fit. Service/support also almost not existent. From technical issues just had to lube front wheel bearings cause they make "scratching metal" sounds. Also, constant adjusting of front derailer. I have mixed feelings now... and probably would not recommend brand and buy bike from them again.
ОтветитьThe one on the video is it the Orbea Terra M30 Team 1X ?
ОтветитьI ended up getting a Terra H30 2x today. Was looking at so, so, so many bikes and when I came across the Terra, all the dimensions seemed to resolve my "firmly in-between 56 and 58" problem (I hope). Would have rather had external cable routing on the aluminum versions as, inevitably, it'll be a bike gravel riders "start on" and "need to tweak".
I do wish they would make bars that do not intentionally flare inward the hoods and just flare the hoops. The hoods should be just like a road bike.
Hey Alex, nice bike, what frame size did you choose ?
Ответитьlove it
ОтветитьThe bicycle market seems to go down the same unfortunate route as the motorcycle market.
What you get is essentially less and less options with every new model year for ever more coins to spend.
I see less and less appealing models both with road and motorbikes, and in both areas, models seem to look increasingly similar, totally replaceable. And the few appealing models seem to cost a fortune.
Example: Ducati used to manufacture really sexy bikes all over the place. Today, the only visually appealing model will cost at least 70k EUR. And it's going to be the same with road bikes.
I own a Scott Addict CX RC 2019 model which I love. Back in the days, it was the only cyclocross option available from them, and their top »gravel« model came in at 6,400 EUR, which I thought was insane at the time.
Out of interest, I checked the Scott website today only to find that the Addict CX RC is no longer available, and their top gravel model, the only option appealing to me when it comes to the choice of color, is tagged at 8,999 EUR.
Looking at the specs of the Orbea model presented here: Fitting 54 mm tyres on an offroad racer is just nuts. It's like fitting chopper tyres on a Superleggera. And who will need suspension and electronic shifting on an offroad racer?
The »gravel bike« segment will do with itself on the long haul as long as bikes keep being indistinguishable apart from the brand logos and overly complex parts keep being fitted where they are unsuitable in the first place, not to mention price inflation at simultaneous supply shortage.
Wish I still had my 1990 Suzuki GSXF, which I would prefer over any modern-day motorbike at any time. Same goes for my cyclocross bike which I will keep forever, hoping it will never break.
We live in desperate days.
This leaves out the fact that it’s basically impossible to get hold of an Oreba at the moment. Current lead time on most of their models is as long as 8 months!!!! Someone needs to have word with their head of manufacturing .
ОтветитьWell played, GCN. You finally got me. Ordered a Terra M30 Team for April to replace my 2009 Specialized Tricross.
ОтветитьMinimalista y limpia, dicen que es ligera y corredora🚴♂️
ОтветитьA small French stick would fit
ОтветитьStill no threaded bottom bracket!!! And only 2 year warranty! You have to be crazy to buy this bike … Trek and specialized offer suspension gravel bikes and LIFE TIME WARRANTY..
ОтветитьI'm 46 years old. I was in my teens and early 20s in the early- to mid-1990s when mountain biking was really getting big and evolving rapidly. I worked at REI in 1993-1994 where I watched a lot of the rapidly evolving MTB tech -- first the front fork suspension, then the rear suspension, etc. It's hilarious to me to watch the evolutionary path of Gravel Bikes today and see people talk about it as if it's something new. Yes, materials and tech have advanced a lot in 30 years. But the evolutionary path of gravel bikes today -- "let's try wider tires!" "Oh, let's try more slack geometry!" "Wait, what about SUSPENSION!" -- is exactly the same overall philosophy and evolutionary trajectory we saw in the 1990s. I say, build a modern road-inspired bike with endurance geometry, give it clearance for 36mm tires and some mounting options, and call it a day!!
ОтветитьNot a good video to watch. Another temptation. Why don't GCN make a video on how to make up bs excuse to tell my wife i need another bike
ОтветитьWeirdly looks like the Silex series from Merida
ОтветитьIt’s pronounced ‘chin turato’
ОтветитьI own an Orbea Avant and Orbea Rise. I contacted Orbea a month ago about the new Terra and they said it would release in two weeks. I took delivery of my new 3T Exploro Race Max the day they released the new Terra. Bummed but I like the 3T a lot.
ОтветитьAn already oversaturated market gets another bike nobody asked for.
ОтветитьSame like the Trek Domane! just more expensive!
ОтветитьVery nice
ОтветитьBasically reading the specs
ОтветитьToo fancy n expensive for gravel use
ОтветитьI want to like this bike, if for nothing else, the quiet hub. But proprietary components-fail. Internal cables on any bike meant for offroad-fail (seriously, roadies need to get off that shit). That pencil fork that looks like it might take 2 strikes and fail catastrophically-fail. They could have just capped clearance at 42mm. This bike isn't for anything much beyond hero gravel.
ОтветитьWhat is under the cover at the seat tube, down tube junction?? It has two phillips head screws.....
ОтветитьI almost thought he was going to say "I'm going to show you all of its quirks and features ..."
Great channel! This channel helps keep me rolling and updated!
Where is regular Tech week show…. Did I miss the memo of why is not on this week?? Nice bike all the same!
Ответитьframe shape looks directly ripped from BMC
ОтветитьFinally I can have Mr Blobby colours!
ОтветитьAm I the only person not remotely interested in a ‘gravel’ bike? Got my roadie and MTB that’ll do me thanks
ОтветитьIt would be nice to actually get some information that doesnt come from orbeas marketing team.
ОтветитьHonestly, nowdays, all gravel bikes looks almost indentical to each other and Orbea is not an exception. Not a fan of new direction, more comfort, more tire cleareance, gravel bikes are getting boring, same with new Checkpoint, Revolt, Grizl. Scott speedster gravel or CX bike like Giant TCX for the win!
ОтветитьIt seems that Orbea is underated, but not exactly the best either. They're kinda like Canyon.
ОтветитьGive me one I’m skint
ОтветитьLooks nice and light
ОтветитьWhat about the aluminium version?
ОтветитьThanks Alex...looked really cool . How was it to ride ? Peace
Ответитьgcn you slacking >.> Showing off a bike without riding the bike- let alone b roll! cmoooon
ОтветитьNorm
ОтветитьLove the quiet free hub.
ОтветитьThey’re a bit pricey aren’t they! I’m looking for a gravel bike with Rival eTap and I’m finding it hard to look beyond the Scott Addict Gravel 20, on price alone it’s hard to beat.
ОтветитьLove it 😍
ОтветитьBeing able to see the Carbon fibre layout through the paint DOES NOT add something special to the paint finish. It makes it look cheap. The gloss detailing also has many tiny defects.
An Endurance/Gravel Bike with mud guard mounts is standard. Why hype it up?
This advert borders on being Propaganda.
50mm tyres?! I’m sorry, but if you buy a gravel bike and stick tyres that fat on it then you are an idiot - because tyres that wide just make it an MTB with drop bars. Anything more than 36mm tyres and a gravel bike loses its credibility in claiming to honour its road-based pedigree.
ОтветитьIt would be nice if we can actually buy these bikes any time sooner than 2023 😐🙄
ОтветитьThe previous version of Terra still look better
ОтветитьQuiet hub... Nice! :)
ОтветитьThe best feature is the myO configurator. Finally gravel bikes that are not black, brown or moss green.
Ответить
