Thanks for your existence! you are more than a genius!

ОтветитьNeeded you 20 years ago. Still, better late than never.
ОтветитьI wish I had seen this several years ago.
ОтветитьThis is such a great talk by Alain, who is one of my favourite modern philosophers. The knowledge that is delivered here in the early 2000s still applies to us today. Just because someone is financially successful doesn't mean they are the best people to hang around with. Likewise, just because someone isn't financially successful (yet), doesn't mean they are not working hard to strive for what they wish to achieve. Essentially, just like Alain says, we shouldn't judge people merely based on their outlook.

ОтветитьThis is a really profound and poignant speech. Many of these problems with society have magnified by social media allowing us to compare ourselves to every other stranger on the planet
ОтветитьI love this man
ОтветитьKierkegaard (in)famously said: "A human being is a spirit. But what is spirit? Spirit is the self. But what is self? The self is a relation that relates itself to itself or is the relation's relating itself to itself in the relation." In other words, your self is in relation to itself, and that relation is known by a transcendental "self" that mediates the dialog. Apart from God, however, the self is a victim of its own inner conflict, and therefore has no unity that is grounded in the intuitions of the divine presence....
ОтветитьIt's a deep topic that Alain is highlighting why is the audience busting out with laughter?
Ответить“Next time you see somebody driving a Ferrari don’t think this is somebody who is greedy, think this is somebody who is incredibly vulnerable and in need of love.” 😂
ОтветитьAlmost from 2023!!
ОтветитьЕкінші болма!
ОтветитьMakes one feel that philosophy is not necessarily boring, rather needed to survive modern society!
Wish he could speak at a lesser speed though, with pauses at the right moments.
Good insights

ОтветитьFunny you should ask that question , I was thinking the exact same. I am almost certain it is !! 😃
ОтветитьHe seems really stressed. He would come across as more confident if he slowed down a bit. There's no need to rush anything. :)

ОтветитьThe topic on the video is about success and failure. The two things I have learnt from this video are: Success is based on self-help. Secondly, any state of mind or level in life that put you out of anxiety is success.
As a student, success or failure in college or career is based on my personal decision or effort to succeed. The extent of seriousness I put in my studies determines my success or failure. I don't need to depend on or copy what others are doing because you are not in them, is only God that knows us. When I diligently utilized every resource made available to me in college and make them my own, definitely I will succeed. Like if I am a given homework, and I made a personal effort to do it and submit it on time, I am working towards success without anxiety or much pressure on me.
This man has said something that the whole world needs to hear.
ОтветитьYou change meaning of succes because you keep failing. It's normal so you won't find yourself a loser 😉
ОтветитьI'm so happy that people like him exist in this world. Takes some load off your soul.
ОтветитьAm I missing a part where he deals with the self-imposed nature of status anxiety? External snobbery may be the original cause. But to have long term problems with this you have to perpetuate it on yourself. And it seems to me that people who do not think about "status anxiety" do very well for themselves, yet are also more capable of snobbery toward others. I'm starting to see that a lot of this depends on how hard/serious a person takes "snobbery" and how long they remember it. Very weird.
Ответить"If you've got a couple of good ideas and a nice garage, you might be the next Bill Gates"...
ОтветитьOne of the best talks I've ever listened to. The guy is a genius, on the one hand he speaks with such clarity and elegance and on the other he maintains a very good sense of humor!👌
Ответитьthat was amazing TT
ОтветитьThank you!

ОтветитьBlind faith in others is not true love but trying to understand others is true form of love.
Trying to understand others can't produce hate or fear except love and kindness in us.
