Great. I bought an expensive edger and wished I had seen this first. I do have a question. Would you use the same motion in edging a sidewalk?
ОтветитьGreat video 🎉
ОтветитьGreetings,
Got my Fiskars yesterday. Wow...came out great.

Greetings,
Got my Fiskars shovel on order. Gonna throw away that half-moon piece of junk.
Thanks

Always use a sharp shovel.
ОтветитьWhat a great technique. I love the look of those edges without having to put in edging, which I think is an outdated look now.
ОтветитьGreat technique! Tool is ready .. waiting for a good rain!❤
ОтветитьOutstanding video, man.
ОтветитьMuchas gracias por la información 👍
ОтветитьJust the information I'm looking for. Thanks
ОтветитьI bought that Fiskars shovel for a huge retaining wall project around my pool. It is built like a tank & extremely effective. Excellent at trenching & very comfortable to use. It's only weakness is that is doesn't hold much when used as a transfer shovel. But, you know, just use a transfer shovel...
ОтветитьThank you, I’m going to buy one of those shovels and get this job done 😊
ОтветитьExcellent! I really need this help!❤
ОтветитьVery helpful. Thanks
ОтветитьSquare shovel, not spade (which looks like...a spade in cards)
ОтветитьHugeeeee Thumbs up and a guarantee subscribe
ОтветитьI have the same shovel and tried using the corner and putting it flat against the ground. I found absolutely zero difference.
Ответитьw thanks
ОтветитьBest video I have found in edging. I am an older lady with no one to do it. Wish me luck!
ОтветитьLooks great!
ОтветитьYour edges look great! Your technique made so much sense!
ОтветитьThank you for this
ОтветитьStraight to the point without a lot of unnecessary talking. Great tutorial and I will be giving it a try in my garden, thank you.
ОтветитьThis was GREAT!!! Thank you!!!
ОтветитьGood job
ОтветитьThanks for the tip but my garden has grass growing right up to the plants in some spots! It is not as 'neat' as yours. :(
ОтветитьI do the same thing for beds. Walkways get done with the power edger though. I always save the cuttings to patch bare spots in the lawn. Here in Central Florida there are always bare spots to tend to. Any sod grown at home will grow better than what you get from the garden center as it is from sod farms in South Florida which is a different soil type. I do the same with any stray grass clumps I pull up from beds or between paving cracks.

ОтветитьMay I ask how deep , do I go in when I'm making the line, done people say 4 inches , so bit drys out on the top ? You didn't touch on this , but great tips anyways thank you
ОтветитьThank you very much got a couple berm is out there in the yard that could use some definition around them
ОтветитьThanks for sharing.. great technique ! A clean sharplend tool edge is a must. I have badly overgrown sidewalks any suggestions for edging them?
ОтветитьIn the UK we call this tool a spade! There is a difference between a spade and a shovel. Doh!!!
ОтветитьAwesome ‼️😀
Ответить❤ very nice thank you for this video
ОтветитьThank you. I cannot afford to buy a 1/2 moon edger. I need to use what I have! I appreciate this. I’m going to try it after a rain.
ОтветитьThank you for this video. I am a senior who is trying to redo front yard. Having the ground wet is the way I have always work the dirt, BUT using the corner of the spade will be of great help. So easy, not sure why I didn't think of it, LOL!
ОтветитьThis looks nice, but try driving a heavy lawn tractor up to that edge, I assume over time edge gets pushed down and constantly needs the edge redefined again?
ОтветитьI call that the side step boogie
ОтветитьWill it work if I want to change the top soil or add a new fertilized soil before grass seeding for a new lawn?
ОтветитьA SHOVEL REALLY is nice I have done it before, however not with this technique! This is really a nice way! However, it still is a lot of work to use that shovel to edge like this, although I never thought of that after the rain. I think you have give it some time after the rain or else it will be a bit messy and garden work boots may be in order.
ОтветитьThat's my specialty when I edge up the beds 💪🏾 worked for a company called maxalea for some time and I've learned alot.. thanks for sharing your technique.
ОтветитьThanks for the tips!
Ответитьyou are literally the only video that mentions the BEST time to edge is after a rain day. This is soooo important. Makes the job so much easier.
ОтветитьI did the same with Woodglut :)
Ответитьexactly
Ответить👌👌👌👌👌
ОтветитьSuper helpful. I have a huge half moon shaped area that I’ve covered in wood chips to kill the lawn. I need to do this to clean up the edges. I have this exact Fiskars tool too!
ОтветитьFor digging a trench or edging…this is the way I discovered too. i have doing it and wondered if it was relatively more efficient …. I have the power tools but for quick clean lines without all the gear, this method makes sense.
ОтветитьNice angle trick. Remember to keep compost off those edges as the cut edge/air keep/slows down the grass roots.
