Jedi fallen order is where you try and stop the empire Star Wars the force unleashed is where the empire tries to stop you

Whoever made the decision to make Fallen Order a soulsborne game should be barred from designing games forever. I've never felt so damn weak playing as a jedi/force user. Only the most basic storm troopers die quickly, while every other enemy feels like a bullet sponge. I should be hacking limbs off left and right, especially with the spin-heavy attacks from the double-bladed saber! But no, large spiders and security droids are basically mini bosses that tank your blows and waste your time.

Of course The Force Unleashed is better.

I feel like each one exemplifies action games of it’s time period. Action games of the 2000s with Devil May Cry Hack n Slash games and Fallen Order with Souls likes.

To me Vader should never appear weak in any media other than to say obi wan and Luke, and I don’t mean if he’s fighting them but through emotional trauma. He’s meant to be a menace and ruthless enemy, he’s meant to cause you dread when you see him.

Inquisitors actually predate both the new Canon and Starkiller. They were a thing in the EU years before. Galen Marek wasn’t taken in by Vader to be one because hunting Jedi wasn’t his ultimate goal. He was training him to be an actual apprentice for the purpose of making him powerful enough to destroy the Emperor with him. That’s why he became so strong (and also turning to the light in the end of course). Character-writing wise, deep down this was Anakin also trying to replace the child(ren) he thought he lost. Galen was basically a parallel to Luke.

Ultimately, while Survivor definitively beats TFU, there are some things that make me put FO behind it. TFU has a more complete story and arc for the characters while FO, though not as short and unpolished as TFU 2, ends in a place where it feels like the story and characters have only just begun. All three are great SW games though IMO. I will say, the Arena mode of FO is awesome and I hope Survivor gets it in an update soon.

Jedi: Fallen Order version of Vader was a Horror movie. Since Vader person train Starkiller then if Cal encounter Starkiller then Starkiller would be scary and overwhelming. Imagine if he meet him in the Survivor and Starkiller knocked Cal around and then bended his crossguard lightsaber to his neck and asked him: "I don't need to kill you with my blade. You own will do the job nicely." But then Starkiller lets Cal go and reminds him that no matter how far in the Force he gets, fear this the weapon of Sith and Jedi, even if Jedi aren't aware of it.
Still, both games and their sequels (with their pros and cons) are great games.

watching this after i’ve just been playing survivor rly makes me appreciate how much they streamlined the game

I like fallen order more than force unleashed for one reason. You don’t have to be this super powerful character to be cool. I also like the Vader section because it shows that he’s an unstoppable force but in force unleashed they make this great character you’re supposed to fear look like a dumbass

Mostly because when it came to story, fallen order was phenomenal and force unleashed sucked hard

One major thing I really like about The Force Unleashed, even the sequel, is that it made you feel powerful as a Force User. Just the power of the lightsaber slicing through waves of enemies or force pushing your enemies was so satisfying, while still providing a level of challenge.

I prefer Fallen Order because of the more balanced combat system which makes the boss fights far more intense and realistic, while tfa just frustrated me with random "enemy can break out of your force" stuff or "you cant block or react to this action without any indicator" stuff

I played the doc and I so pointless but I was laughing my ass off and it is so fun to play

You lost me when you mentioned that games took longer to make and were more expensive, yes the price to make them is higher but it really sounds like an excuse for microtransactions lately. - Games, at least the good ones, have always taken up to 10 years to make.

I personally liked the Force Unleashed more. Better story, the gameplay was heavily action based and you got to take down a Star Destroyer.

Casting Ian Gallagher as the main character meant I was never gonna play Jedi Fallen Order. I just can't take him serious as a Jedi.

This is not a fair comparison. Comparing both games is like comparing a box fan to an air conditioner. They are two completely separate games with separate mechanics. You might as well compare Star Wars Battlefront to Fallen Order, or KOTOR to Jedi Starfighter.

I love both games, but I have a hard time going back to force unleashed now days. Especially since there is 2 completly different versions of the game on console, with elements,mechanics, and different levels that I liked from both.

The dungeons/puzzles absolutely killed the game for me, tedious wall running ice surfing timed vine jumping.... I want an updated force unleashed lmao.

Currently playing Jedi Survivor and I'm seeing its almost exactly the same as fallen order in terms oof gameplay. however Cal seems to have forgotten how to do many of his force abilities and they have to e unlocked again .

i think the major difference between the 2 fights with Vader is not actually Vader who is different as much as the character that's seeing him. Even having gotten older and stronger Cal is still just thinking and acting like a jedi padawan, hes holding the base beliefs of the jedi order and kinda trying to figure out how they hold up in the modern galaxy. When Cal faces Vader he is seeing what is to him the most powerful force user to date and everything Vader does just pushes his fear of him more. Starkiller was raised by Vader for most of his life, he was trained by Vader to kill Darth Sidious, Jedi masters were practice towards this goal and he was taught there are no limits to the force. When the time came to fight Vader he did not see an unstoppable force user, he saw a weak coward bowing to another.
