Does this $250 budget FPV drone freestyle as good as a premium one? // Bacon's Budget Build Part 1

Hi, i'm sorry but without knowing wich is wich i like quad "A" (the cheap one) more then "B". Upps. Just in this moment i'm building the TBS Source One V5 frame with 2306 Xing pro motors and mamba F7 4th gen cntrl and 65 amp esc. And in this moment you said quad "A" is the cheap one i jumped out of my chair and shout loud :"Strike, strike, dammed shit, yes strike". It makes me so happy.! YES.!!
Excuse the real bad english. I'm german. And now i have to make the "happy dance". Yeeeees.

Drone A footage was very nice, but the second I saw drone B I knew it was the expensive build. But I don't think it was the way it flew... Rather the way you flew it. It seemed like you felt more comfortable flying it. More snappy.
Looking forward to catch up on this month old series. LOL!

Blue Jay is sweet I would get the f-405 stack just for blue jay.

The Budget quads going to be lighter and fly better. 😆 But we still like the fancy one. A looks like the heavy one.

Roll acceleration is faster on A, lower moment of inertia, but less total power. Lighter weight?

nice work. just goes to show that you can build a really nice budget drone.

im gonna be honest. I thought A flew worse. It was slower, less peppy and the movements were less "on track" I have those xing-e pro same motors and i flew them for a while becuase the quad was digital. I honestly dont like them, and i think thats why the quad they are on flys like crap( now that i really tuned my analog quad again and built a bardwell QAV-s build). ( that build: apex DC, jbf7v2, tmotor f55 pro2, vista, nebula pro with those motors) There is a few dollar more or even the emax motors imo seem fly way nicer for the same price. I havent tried the cheaper t-motors but those might be good too.. Also those motors i barely tap them and the steel shaft bends or they start rubbing. Weak magnets too. it flys just like your videos.

I recently took a gambe and purchased a TCMMRC OVER FREQUENCY for £100 delivered.
Swapped out the props... (after I flew em a while and broke one)
And immediately swapped out the camera to a Trex from my spares box.

Put a ton of packs through it... flown it hard and crashed it hard over the past few weeks.
Absolutely no electronic failures so far......
It's not got the best specs... but u can make it do what I want it to..

Current prices for most fpv gear is a piss take imo. And on principle I've chosen to only purchase budget gear or no gear at all until prices start to drop.

I was thinking B was the budget. Less worry about crashing so sent it harder imo. I love my source one v5.

The one thing I would not skip on is the carbon and the motors. I've had soo many crashes and these are the only parts that consistently fail.

I guessed B was the mark5 because it looked like you where more comfortable flying it with snappier moves. $300 can get you a nice quad, most people can’t even use the higher end stuff to its full potential. Most people running premium stuff are just on the hype train and I’m guilty of it to sometimes.

Easy guess 🚀 way more aggressive flying om B. Expensive or not, most important thing is to have fun and send it😁🤙🏻

Pause when the drone casts a shadow. That is the only way to tell what is what. Can't wait for the rest of the series on this.

Honestly, if you are spending top dollar on an FPV freestyle drone, and you aren't able to perform at the absolute highest level, you are just wasting your money. You will destroy the drone crashing before any of the cheap parts fail, and they perform with like 95% capability of the high end drones.

Great job I've been flying about 6 years now and just happened to run across your Channel.great content by the way I could tell the difference in the builds but I probably could not if you would have tuned the cheap drone OK honestly you should just flash both drones and use betaflight default settings I probably could not have seen the difference.

Great video Bacon! I definitely thought the expensive quad was B. Not even sure why it just seemed a bit snappier. Can't wait to see the budget build series. I may duplicate your build. Especially that Speedybee stack. Last stack I bought was only $45 back in 2020. I've just been flying my 9 builds from that year and still ripping strong. Feeling that building itch though!! Keep up the great work

I guessed B was the M5 because it seemed to be a tighter tune and you flew it harder, but really though they both flew very well. I’m looking forward to a hard rip once its tuned and you have more flights with it and curious about the black box results. I’m wanting to use the S1V5 frame as a backup quad for if the main quad has issues when flying… at least I’d have something to fly instead of going back home. On the other hand, I thought about building my backup quad identical to the main quad so I can fix one while flying the other… you know how it is 😂

Best guess B is the budget and i say that because you flew it better. Another excellent vid keep em going, for my last budget build i used pyrodrone motors and damn they are nice at any price point but they are only $16
