Even though some of the science is outdated, this is the most humanized that our Paleolithic ancestors got to be in a documentary that I have seen. Actual likeable characters with a personality and a story, even though we understand none of the dialogue.
Also, some of it was pretty daring for a documentary of this kind in the early 2000s, particularly showing women actively contributing to the narrative while in many others they would just sit in the caves waiting for the men to come back (such an outdated depiction, by the way! We know today that women went along on hunts. Their skeletons show the typical built of a person that excercises much, like modern-day athletes). Also, the way their shoulder bones have formed from the use of throwing a spear proves that they hunted.

Enjoyed this documentary. Humanised our ancestors and felt attached in their struggle.

I don't feel that the different human species would of been so friendly with each other, especially with the competition for resources.

That being said this documentary made a mistake. Humans and Neanderthals did reproduce. We have found Neanderthal DNA in large swathes of modern people. Whether the couplings were consensual or not is open to debate.

as an archaeologist I think that "primitive" humans are depicted here ridiculously ape-like in their kinetic patterns and social behavior, our "modern" ancestors (homo antecesor, homo sapiens) were already very sophisticated complex social beings when they migrated out of Africa!!! perhaps the very old Australopithecines (not our evolutive branch) might have had some of the characteristics depicted here, but that is difficult to know.
