I've watched Spider-Man movies since the Raimi ones, and I feel like this series is the best so far. Actually believable as awkward teens, Tom is great a great in-over-his-head-but-rolling-with-it Spider-Man and Zendaya totally surprised me as a girl-next-door-MJ. Their chemistry is so palpable it's like a third character.

I'll admit, I was pissed at them race swapping MJ and then acting like they didn't. However, this is a case where the actor or actress is so good that I won't whine about it. Zendaya nailed it in all three movies. She was so genuinely awkward and yet so obviously tried to be cool. She showed some good comic timing too.

Going back to the original Spider-Man, Peter Parker was not this awkward or this age range or this tiny, he was 5' 10" and battled his own inner monolog at times. His age ranged from 18 to 21 years old as he transitioned from high school to city college which was like a public junior college. He was not so awkward to the point of ridiculousness and slipping on the mask of his costume gave him instant confidence. His tingling spider sense was more reliable than depicted. The highpoint of these disappointing movies has been the well cast villans.

its such a cute scene like they really are just 2 smart and awkward teens trying to navigate their worlds who also have feelings for each other. Also absolutely love how MJ is potrayed in this movie and its so cute despite all her idc personality she still has her cute moments where she gets happy that she figures it out. Zendaya plays the perfect role. Despite there being only probably 30 min of MJ scenes collectively in all movies put together, she played the role so damn well. It just stays in your mind you know. Zendaya is soooo talented. So glad that she was chosen to play a version of iconic MJ.
