Luke, you do a great job but please please stop using only FCP as an editing comparison. Use Premiere Pro as well which is more CPU based and an After Effects Project so people can actually get a bigger overall picture of the performance. Resolve color page with noise reduction performance would be great as well. These are the performance criteria that real video professionals need to know, not how long a video takes to
ОтветитьThank you
ОтветитьLuke, thank you for always proving your feedback on these new devices! I upgraded from my 2019 Intel 15 inch MacBook Pro to the M3 Pro 16 inch MacBook Pro and this beast flies!
ОтветитьOMG I save 2 seconds. I can waste a lot of money for that. I will just work harder, buy less food and sleep less.
ОтветитьLuke, you have a dB noise level measuring device on your wrist
ОтветитьThe price blew me as well. 😆
ОтветитьHow powerful is m3 pro maxed out gpu compared to NVidia 3050ti laptop chip?
ОтветитьI have an M2 Max. So, now I’m waiting for a M3 ultra in a MacBook Pro. M3 max just isn’t a big enough upgrade.
ОтветитьAlways love Luke's videos. but I just can't get over the fact that 99.9% of people really don't need this kind of performance. M1 Airs and Pros are more than enough for most people. It's cool that Apple and Intel can make these powerful machines. But we should be thinking about saving resources and keeping perfectly good laptops in use and relevant. If Apple was really serious about this then stop updating OS every year and make older laptops easier to repair.
ОтветитьPersonally I think most creatives want to see the M3 Max 16inch performance not the 14 inch.
Ответитьwatching on 2012 macbook pro (still working "kindof" fine!). But think im gonna finally update. that black color is too tempting
ОтветитьBe interesting to know a real life comparison between the performance these machines provide, and what the end users ultimately leverage from it? Apple would never want that published, otherwise it will probably demonstrate that the majority don't need either M2 or M3 chips really as yet over the M1 series.
Obviously if I was buying new, M3 would be a more obvious choice, but not over my Mac Studio M1 Max. Will keep me happy for years yet. Might go for a new laptop, but a refurbished M2 Air or M2 Pro will probably make more financial sense than a new M3 variant in reality.
You can get vivid, and the brightness will be better no matter if its M1, M2, or M3
ОтветитьHmm 10hr 4k video playback no windows laptop does that 😮😊
ОтветитьCan you please make a comparison video between all the M Max lines? From M1 Max to M3 Max? I am very curious because they have decreased the memory bandwidth from 400Gb/s from the M1 Max and I'm curious as to how it plays out in performance. Please and thank you!
ОтветитьCan't wait for the M3 Ultra Mac Pro (or Studio if there is some upgrade path to 25 Gbps SPF28 in addition to or replacing the 10 Gbps interface)
ОтветитьI think that for some people, how well, some Virtualisation software works on M3 is a key issue. Mac Intel virtualisation is a big plus for some software, like Revit that people use via Parallels x86 with dedicated AMD graphic cards. How that software works on Macs with M3? Parallels for Apple Silicon runs Windows for ARM, not the x86 version. Can we get a comparison on Virtualisation?
ОтветитьHaha, i feel you, upgraded from base mbp13pro 2015 to 16” 32gb m1 max a year ago, the difference was staggering. M3 max should impress you even more
ОтветитьDanke!
ОтветитьThank you for the straight real talk, Luke! Other channels love to Geekbench it out or use 2 second EEVEE tests as validation but you're really ensuring to put these machines through real world moderately heavy use case scenarios.
ОтветитьI'm really really happy with my M1 Max MBP - not sure that I want to (should) watch this...
ОтветитьThinkpad p16 gen 2 OR MacBook pro m3 max?
ОтветитьHey Luke, you know what testing is never done? Real world application opening times, I don't think I have ever seen that comparison anywhere. Cinebench , Blender ....who cares. Let's face it what percentage of macbook users are regularly rendering video? 10%? What percentage of macbook users use a mac for games? 5%? What percentage want stuff to load quicker instead of looking at a spinning ball loading MS and Adobe products? 100%? Do a startup and loading comparison for mum and dads office / graphic applications - Intel / M1 / M2 /M3.
ОтветитьAnd your wallet. 😂😂😂
ОтветитьFCP 10.7 should significantly increase export speeds on the Ultra (especially) and Max chips. They will be using all engines at once.
ОтветитьLuke, did you happen to buy a 14-CORE M3 Max configuration (of a 14” MacBook Pro)? Since this is the most affordable of the M3 Max configs, I’d love to see what those benchmarks are compared to the others you have. Many thanks!
ОтветитьAre you able to compare the battery life of the M3 pro to the M3 Max in low power mode?
ОтветитьGreat review, Luke! Did you use the M3 Max base model with the 14-core CPU and 30-core GPU, or did you opt for the 16-core CPU and 40-core GPU? Thanks.
ОтветитьThanks for the fan noise test, it was one of the most important tests 👍
Ответитьso do you think that the m3 max in a 16 inch body will be less noisy than the 14 inch?
ОтветитьWatching this on my Intel Atom laptop…
ОтветитьFans will obviously be louder in the 14” as they only put a single fan in it this time round compared. I’m expecting the 16” to be much quieter.
ОтветитьAn Apple fanboy got into it with me yesterday in the comments and wrote an essay about how "good" M3 is and it smokes ALL PC's 😂
H I L A R I O U S !!!
Please compare macbook 14 M1 pro vs Macbook m3.. should i upgrade from m1 pro to base m3😢
ОтветитьI've read that Apple are releasing new battery tech in a couple of years. It'll be interesting to see what difference, if any, this makes.
ОтветитьM1pro 😏
ОтветитьAfter all these reviews, praising the M3 MAX and showing that it's really a big step forward, I can't wait to see an M3 Ultra and how insane it's hoing to be.
ОтветитьHi Luke I hope your going to do something on the IMac m3
ОтветитьMissing thermals. useless
ОтветитьGood one, but no DAW comparison :(
ОтветитьI don't get it, you're only comparing against other Apple M chips.
Shouldn't you be comparing performance versus AMD and Intel and ARM flagship chips?
Otherwise, you're just in an echo chamber.
For the M3 Pro you are referencing in this video, is it the 11cpu/14gpu or the 12cpu/18gpu version?
ОтветитьWatch some of the "ArtIsRight" channel's recent M3 videos. His comparisons and testing are much more in-depth and accurate that yours, and not just rushed out for views. You will see that you are wrong, and in fact yes: the M3 Max MBP 16/40 is faster in a handful of tests than the M1 and M2 Ultra Studio. Even in its stock 48GB / 1TB config - and not with upgraded RAM. So please, stop talking total nonsense.
ОтветитьHmmmm I'm confuesed.... you have earlier talked about how disappointed you was after the first test you did over the MacBook Pro M3 series compared to the M2 Pro/Max. So now it's seems to be a fantastic computer, right? Hmmmmmm
ОтветитьYou should see the Lightroom times. Over 20 minutes compared to some of the PC times at under 5 at the base model. For the cost, this is a joke.
ОтветитьIs that the 40 gpu cores version? What about a comparison with the 30 you cores?
ОтветитьUnfortunately, this double encoders doesn't work 2x faster for renders, because these are not working together ;/
The same was between m2 pro and m2 max, where m2 max had 2x more encoders then m2 pro.
You can render 2 videos in parallel the same time, then you will only notice the difference... ;/
