Just to calm a few nerves here, I’ve had several root canals. I was never suffering from a toothache, so there was no pain walking into the dentist’s office. The needle used to administer the local anesthetic is very thin, and I never experienced any sensation beyond a little pinch.

Although those squealing high-speed drills are annoying, and the overall
experience is kind of “gross,”
the whole process was virtually pain free. When the local anesthetic wore off several hours later, I was amazed that I was almost pain free. I never needed anything stronger than an aspirin. 🦷

Due to the comments I'm reading rn. I'll have my tooth extracted

I had a root canal treatment done 2 days ago. But I still have the dental abscess on my gum above. Im not sure if it should have went instantly or if it takes time to heal and time for the abscess to go away

I just want to go to sleep. My tooth pains seem to only intensify when it's night time. I'm so exhausted and going insane from the pain. I remember I was crying from the pain and exhaustion screaming "I just want to go to sleep please tooth stop". So I'd be sitting up around 2 or 3 in the morning looking for answers online. It got so bad my eye kept closing involuntarily from the swelling. My best advice is ibuprofen it's a godsend. That's all I have for now.

I just had a root canal yesterday on a molar that had an abscess down by the nerve. The freezing shots down deep into the infected nerves is probobly the most painful part, I literally had the nurses assistant holding my hand it hurt so fking bad. You don't really feel anything after that, until the freezing wears off. My jaw was swollen like a frog for 3 days, after a strong course of antibiotics and a Tylenol + ibeprophen combo about a week later and I was good the Infection was gone I didn't have to get it pulled, they saved it with a root canal + antibiotics & then a crown

to the tooth pain…said as someone whos received a lot of pokes in the gums unfortunately lol

See you local Endodontist..get a Root canal for 2K then a crown for $1200.00. Then it goes bad and you need to pull it and get a implant. $1500.00. No problem the high cost of Dentistry affords them a very nice lifestyle and they know full well when they game you.

When does a broken tooth need to be removed ?

I got most of my teeth needing to be removed because they have deteriorated, plus several abscesses, and I can't do a damn thing about it, all because I cant go into the ER and just have them rip the teeth out for me because greedy A-Holes made it Illegal to let a hospital do dental work unless its from a dentist. not as if I have money to do anything, and even when I did have a job I couldnt afford it, plus a few years back there we're several places one could go to get it done free, then obama care came out and ban, no longer free.

I have been feeling this pain for a week now

As soon as you feel that infamous bubble seek treatment! I'm telling you right now it's the worst pain that I've ever experienced. I've broken multiple bones and the abcess tooth is hands down the worst. Luckily I got it taken care of years back but for that week I had it was horrible. It felt like my tooth was going to explode out of my skull. Also an abcess tooth can kill you so yeah theres that.
