This has big problems. Before Internet falls in wrong hands and also Use of internet needs to be moderated. Why so much porn? Why there is dark web? Before those things sorted out, making better internet access can actually be detrimental to the quality of society.

Elon (seems) like a nice guy. although I think he has a bit of a dark past. - Not his fault at all. - I think he should chat with a doctor. I'm not a Doctor. Nor do I claim to be one. But something is wrong with Elon, He mumbles his words. He can't talk a straight sentence.

We needed to move observations of space to space. Space X is lowering the cost of placing hardware in space...Leaders need to get up to date and push o build in space.

The same way Elon enabled Starlink over Ukraine and mocked the Russians on Twitter, he disabled it once was used to control drones to bust Russian warships. Internet service in hand of private corporations is a huge danger for everyone too.

@CleoAbram you should do a video on fiber optics if you haven’t already done so. It will blow your mind even more. The physics are more complex than just light on or light off. Each fiber can carry multiple “channels” each channel= a different wavelength of the light.

Lets replace 436 underwater cables with 40,000 starlink satellites. Is that gonna be enough or too-much? 4 years ago less than 4000 satellites was enough so 200 years from now Starlink will still be in charge of the world. Its likely in 5 years we wont be able to see one star in the sky. In southern California I check the skies to see if its a good night to use my telescope and theres always just one star and one planet (Jupiter). When I was a kid, I would go outside and see the Milky Way. In 20 years when all this is finished We wont be able to even make 'long exposure' images of a star in places that have the clearest skies. Even the Moon will be blurry with all those things buzzing around the planet. Elon, You Suck

A satellite is easier for AI to hack into and eventually control our internet. Cables are old school but we could snap it at some point and disrupt any future threat from AI. Although I am in favour of keeping things simple, I still believe a cable is good for places which have access and those that don’t could use satellites.

My internet already comes by satellite. There is no cable service where I live.
Of course anything that originates in Europe or Asia will come to the US by cable but news, and messages that originate in the US are sent to my provider. They put the signal to a satellite dish and send it to a satellite, which bounces it back to my receiver dish.

Starlink promises to be faster than my current satellite at almost the same price.

I saw the starlink train for the first time last night just South of Boston in the US. It was 3 mins of ABSOLUTE CRAZYNESS. To see 30ish perfectly spaced illuminated satellites go over head silently has to be the closest thing to a UFO encounter.

I worked for a broadband Corp for 22yrs..so I know that those satellite companies will be getting grant dollars from the fcc..based on the amount of census addresses and each additional address reached. Witch will then allow the internet providers to tax the customer directly...including cell companies..

If the only negative takeaway is that we have no asteroid monitoring because of streaks, you’re only half right — we ave 50% global monitoring capacity since the southern hemisphere lost all funding and stopped looking entirely in 2014… 50% of earth isn’t affected by ‘Starlink trails’

The problem is that now you have wealthy individuals like Elon musk, controlling who can have access to the Internet, and who can’t. And individuals like Elon musk have political biases and make decisions that are not necessarily in your best interest, or that of our country

Kinda like Starbucks. I walk in expecting the original I can give you what I create. Right. The barista at the last store told me. We cannot do this. There is no button for that. Control of such freedom for profit. Is deceiving through non profits. Interesting I asked what. You created such but yet now you do not think for yourself.

I never knew space internet was a thing. I always assumed it was all cables. Of course I'm old enough that wifi didn't exist when I was a kid, and the only access to the interenet was through having cables connected to the house that the computer was connected to with another cable.
