most Teachers in Uni are so focused on proving the algorithm works, and is the best way to do 'X' - to the point they dont notice, or care, if the students even understood what the algorithm does or even supposed to do.

@michael, I don't think your code is right. If we use a visited set, doesn't that mean we will never revisit a node? What if there are two paths to C? then once we first walk past C, we can't revisit it again to update the value...
